A man in our church just had a kidney transplant about 10 days ago. He is still very sick and feeling quite low in his spirit because of complications. Would you please join us in praying for this man? His name is Don Strout. He lives in Portland, ME. Thank you.

One of my younger brothers had a kidney transplant in Nov. 1995. Our niece who was
born on his fifteenth birthday, was born with two enlarged kidneys. She worked in the
accounting dept of the large hospital in Dallas. Tx, (in the same building where they did
the transplants.) Un-beknown to the family she was being tested to see if she might meet
the criteria for being his donor. Long story/shorter, she gave her uncle one of her large
healthy kidneys and both have done very well. In May, it was touching as his wife and
two adult children invited his siblings and spouses, and his niece and spouse, to a sur-
prise birthday party. We were to come to the church he pastored and then have lunch
together afterwards at a nice restaurant where reservations had been made.

It was a touching scene indeed as David and Amanda stood side by side on the platform
for pictures. Our niece remarked that Erick (his son) had finally succeeded in getting the
two kidneys back together. Side by side.

I pray that our Great LORD GOD will touch this brother and lift his spirits. in Jesus Name!
Things will no doubt get better after a little while. Tell that dear man to hang on, GOD is
still on HIS THRONE! GOD knows right where this dear brother is. GOD has NOT forgotten
Him!

Blessings,

And my response:

Bro. Stearns,
I will forward my post plus this message to my
brother, David Blakey, UPC home missions pastor
in Canton, Tx. He started the work in Canton the
next year after his transplant.
No one can encourage someone like the one who
has been there. We each have been places in our
experiences and that is the area we can best relate
to others. Places where they are and we have been!

Blessings,

Nancy C. (Falla39)

We are our brother and sister's keeper!

Would our brothers and sisters be included in the second to the
greatest commandment! Love thy neighbor as thyself.
If I know one of my siblings are hurting, I hurt too. Should we not
be concerned for our brothers and sisters in Christ! Should we not
help bear their burden and pain on our knees in prayer! If we are of
the same Body/Father/Family, that is!:heart
