If anything was posted here on AFF, I missed it-- but this was on Margie's facebook page. I'm sure she won't mind it being posted here, so that her friends here who haven't already seen this on facebook can pray.

We need your prayers today, friends. The rescue squad took Walt to the hospital this morning at 5:15 with chest pains. The doctors are saying that they do NOT think that what is happening is heart related - for which we give God all kinds of thanks!! But they are keeping him overnight to do more testing and for observation. They've drawn blood. His enzyme levels are negative in the first draw. They just did a 2nd .

Posted at 1:57 pm yesterday:

(I posted that enzyme level stuff for Aunt Dot and Tracy cuz it'll mean something to them :) ) They've done a chest x-ray. It was ok. They did a CT Scan 2 weeks ago and everything was stable at that point. I'm going to suggest that maybe they might want to repeat it now since he didn't have the pains 2 weeks ago. Right now they've taken him down ... Read Morefor the 1st half a drug-induced stress test and will do the 2nd half tomorrow morning.
In the meantime, like I said, they do NOT believe this heart. So pray that that figure out what it IS :)
By the way, let me tell you what makes me nervous most - 2 days ago Walt came home with papers for me and said, "Here, I made out a simple will. I just felt like it was important to have this done right now."
So pray. Thank you, everyone!!!!

I appreciate all of your prayers for Walt today. So far they are saying they don't believe it is his heart. that's good news. They are doing a medication induced stress test. they did the first half today and will do the 2nd half tomorrow morning. I want to ask the doctor about repeating the CT Scan of the dissected aorta because this pain didn't start until AFTER he had had the CT 2 weeks ago. Something could have developed between then and now. I hope not, but would rather know for sure. I'll keep you posted as we know more. In the meantime, again, we thank you for praying.

This is the last information that is available on her facebook page as of now.

Please keep both Walt & Margie in your prayers.

**Editing to add the link where Margie tells about what happened to Walt, and the testimony of what God did for him-- for those who weren't on the forums with us then.

I came on here tonight intending to post what has been going on for the past two days and then give God glory for once again answering prayer on our behalf. Imagine my surprise when I see that there is already a thread started asking for prayers for Walt. Thank you, Tina!! This is what a real family is, folks! You all are the absolute greatest!! I know I've said it before. But I will shout it from the highest mountain and still not be able to make it known to enough people :hug3

So here's the latest : WALT IS HOME!! They did every heart test that you can think of short of a heart cath (which they want to avoid unless absolutely necessary because his aorta is still dissected the entire length). All of them came back negative. :hanky:hanky:hanky

Then they checked for blood clots in his lungs and legs. None there. :thumbsup

The one thing they did find is that his thyroid level is pretty far off. But all they're doing is changing the time of day that he takes his thyroid medication. (by the way, for those of you who take thyroid medication, one thing we learned tonight is that the medication MUST be taken on an empty stomach and the stomach has to remain empty for at least 1/2 hour after taking it. And NO milk or dairy within a few hours of taking thyroid meds.)

So overall, what they decided is that this was skeletal/muscular in nature. But they were emphatic with us that we did the right thing in going to the ER when he had the chest pain, even tho it didn't turn out to be anything. And they stressed to Walt that any time he feels chest pains in the future he should NEVER hesitate to come in to the ER because of his history.

So once again we are thanking God and giving HIM all honor and all glory. He is soooooooooo good!!!

Thank YOU, Wonderful, Faithful GOD! You are SO loving and merciful!
Thank you for answering our prayers once again! Why anyone would not
want to love and serve YOU with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.
And then to love others as ourselves.

Lord, we give you glory,
Lord, we give you honor,
We give You ALL of the praise.
Lord, we give You praise.
