I am going to try and experiment with a recipe to try and come up with as close to a cake I had years ago that was the best I believe I ever had.
It was multi-layered, and the icing was a chocolate "shell" type icing.
My SIL's sister owns a cake shop and she gave me the recipe for the icing.
I am going to try and make the first layer yellow cake, second white, and third red velvet, which is a mild chocolate.
My question is icing for the in between layers. I don't remember what they used.
I am thinking of a raspberry filling on the bottom layers and maybe the other layer as well. Using a buttercream icing to form shell to keep filling in.
What do you think about that combination?
Any other suggestions for fillings?
