“We’re going to home schooling,” the boy’s mother, Cindy Pope, said Wednesday. “He can learn more without the distraction of what to wear.”

good grief. There are so many distractions in high school and she is gonna home school him because he is distracted by the fact that he can't wear his "skinny pants"?

So now I guess he can go to school in his undies

I would think "skinny pants" would be too constricting.

we wore in the 60's with white sox and penny loafers. Called em high water pants because we wore them a couple inches above the ankle

Perhaps the should focus on teaching and leave the fashion to someone else. Good grief. Both of my kids where skinny jeans, you folks in Texas need to lighten up.

Maybe it will lead to a fitness craze as our baggy clad youth start to try and squeeze into tighter apparel.

I say, dress for comfort. And dress in such a way that you'll be able to move in an emergency.

We wore blue jeans and a variety of colored tee-shirts as our "uniform." In cooler weather those padded yoke shirts from the seventies were popular. We mostly wore tennis shoes or ropers. 501's with tennis shoes and boot-cut or flaired jeans with the ropers.

It was easy to decide what to wear. You could sit comfortably in class and then join in a pick up game of basketball without ever changing.
