Prayer Please....

Back in 2005, I had a huge scare with my heart, ambulance ride, ekgs, heart monitor...and all that kind of fun....well, here the last couple of months have began having trouble again...this time it seems like it's back with a vengence....and I'm having a really hard time getting it to settle down...

We do not have insurance and as you know anything heart related is down right too expensive, but I really need to see a doctor....to get back on the -meds...I am to self-medicate, when I need it, but I haven't had to in about 2 years and my doctor has moved, without my knowlege, to a town not too far from here, but he is a cardiologist, so that meand about $200 just to go see him to get a prescription for the medicine....

So one of two things needs to happen, either the Lord needs to touch and heal me, and I'm not too full of faith right now, and I know I'm a preachers wife, but we are human too....so either, He needs to heal me, or I need to be able to get into see my cardiologist....

So please pray that one of the two will happen. At this point, I don't care which one. I just need for one of them to happen and soon...this is almost umbearable....

Also, pray for my faith or lack thereof...I sit here with tears running down my face for my lack of faith, but I don't know what else to do....I AM MISERABLE!!!! to say the least...so please remember me in prayer for the next few days....

Sarilda, I feel your pain.

You don't have to have a mountain of faith. If you have just a tiny, tiny shred of faith right now, hang on to that. Cling to it. Grasp it tightly and hold it close to your heart. That's all you have to do. God will take that little seed and will grow it - in HIS time and in HIS way.

And if you feel yourself slipping, come back to us. Grasp ahold of OUR faith. Draw strength from us, your brothers and sisters, because we love you. We're here for you.

I think you should check and see if there is a free clinic in your area. Call your local social services and ask.

Thanks guys and gals....I'm a little better today...have absolutely NO ENERGY, but at least I can get up and sit in the chair...

Called my cardiologist and hopefully they can give me meds without having to go in cause it will cost about $200 just to see him.....

Update...

I called the cardiologist this morning and they are calling me in a 3 month prescription of Toprol. Also they are wanting me to come in and see him, so I asked how much it was to come in and she put me on hold...nerve racking...she gets back on and says it depends on the complexity of the service, but it will be between $50-80. to see him...I almost fell off the bed...as I was still in bed and have been in bed since wed. afternoon...

Anyways, they told me that since they are a hospital they have programs that I can sign up for since I have no insurance and they'll help pay for visits to the doctor and they will also help pay for any procedures that I have done...

GOD is sooooo good....even when our faith is low or non-existant, He's still there taking care of us...

So now pray that my appointment, which is Feb 16 at 10:15, well, not sure yet how to pray actually, just pray that everything turns out the way God wants it to....

I'm not sure what your symptoms are. Toprol lowers your heart rate, right? Is that what he's prescribing it for? Just curious, do you suffer from anxiety attacks?

I used to suffer from anxiety and when having an attack, my heart would pound right out of my chest. Then, I found out, quite by accident, that when I felt an anxiety attack coming on, if I ate an orange, it stopped it in its tracks.

(Side Note: Oranges also stop vomiting caused by the flu & believe it or not even motion sickness. So do limes.)

I've been on toprol since my bypass surgery in 1995.
It is a beta blocker and affects the heart to slow down the pressure with which it pumps. Because of that it can result in light headedness, dizziness, and staggering, but most medicines have adverse affects and I've learned to live with it.

Toprol is now available as a generic and because of my insurance, that is what I've been on for a couple of years now with my Cardiologist's approval.
