Hi there...

I've been here before, probably around 2007. Has been inactive for some years and my former user name was Blue August. Cannot access it now so I just started a new profile.

I hope the forum's still growing strong.

Good day and God bless us all...

You say you are an apostolic in the Philippians. Did you happen to hear the gospel from a missionary?

Glad to have you join us on AFF.

The apostolic work here in the Philippines has grown these days to the point that missionaries don't do the evangelism on a personal level. They are more into training and equipping Filipino pastors who in turn evangelizes the country. A lot of the missionaries here are managing Bible Schools. There are still a few who goes to the mountains and do intense personal evangelism with the tribal natives.

A Filipina evangelist from the United Pentecostal Church was instrumental for my family's conversion. I was baptized December 25, 1979 when I was 8 years old... I'm still with the UPC these days...

The UPC Phil's Inc. alone have 2,500 churches in the Philippines with around a 300,000 constituents. Add to that the fruit of the labors of other oneness apostolic organizations (I am not aware of their numbers) and you'll get at least a simple idea of how many of us are in here.

We're really glad that God has been blessing His church here in the Philippines.

Thanks for the welcome...

Bro. Pusang Kulog,
I am Falla39 and I well remember you being on AFF as BlueAugust.
I believe I mentioned my late father serving in the Philippines in 1944-45.
He prayed for those cities where he was stationed there and later in
Japan. He returned to the United States with a heavy burden for foreign
missions.
In 1988, the year before he went to be with the Lord, the church (small)
he pastored, received an award for "Third Place" per capita giving to
Foreign Missions worldwide. He was too ill to attend Gen. Con. to receive
this award. One of his seven sons, who was assisting him at the time, went
in his place to received the award. The church he pastored was known as a
"mission minded" church because of a man who had been there, acquired a
burden and brought that burden home with him. He brought a burden for
Japan home also. Today there is a church in every place he was stationed
while in the US Army in 1944-46.

Blessings,

Years ago (maybe 50 years ago) Bro. Carlos Grant was a missionary in the Philippines with the ALJC. I don't remember the name of the UPC missionaries there. Maybe it was Adams or Dillon.

@Sis. Falla - Yes, I do remember that thread and the pictures of your family. It's pretty nice to hear from you again.

I just came back from the UPC Philippines General Conference 2010 held at Davao City, Philippines. It was awesome to hear and be encouraged by the preachings of Bro. D. Bernard and Bro. T.F. Tenney. It was during this conference that our Filipino General Superintendent approached me and ask me (I am also a pastor) if I'm still active at this forum. It suddenly dawned on me that i haven't been here for a long time now. So, here I am again. A little busy helping setting up the http://upcphils.org website and trying to manage http://pinoyapostolic.ning.com. The latter is a social network that caters to Filipino apostolics in the Philippines and in abroad.

I think Pastor A. Bodegas (our Filipino UPC Superintendent) do visit this forum from time to time...

@ Bro Sam - Yes, I have heard of Bro. Carlos Grant. I think he was the first ever Oneness Apostolic American Missionary that has set foot in the Philippine country. His name is on my notes on Philippine Pentecostal History which I used during my years on the Bible School. He really did an awesome job paving the way for the truth in our country.

Bro. Pusang Kulog,
The links I posted concerning your previous threads as Blueaugust in 2008, were good
at the time I posted them. Why they become void is a mystery to me. Perhaps someone
else would know what is happening.
Your threads, "God In Action", "Forsaking Moab" and "When New Kings Arise" were great
messages. I copied them off yesterday because I want to remember these messages.

Sis. Falla,

Yes, I still remember those posts... I'm really happy to hear that you are being blessed by those.

I would try to post some of the pictures of the UPC Phils General Conference 2010 sometime later if anybody would like to see some of it...

Where are those threads?

How can we read them?

Bro. Sam,
My computer was attacked by a virus and has been down for several
hours. But the Lord helping us, we got rid of that mean ole virus and I
am happy about that!
I went to the front page of the forum and up across the top where it has
"Members List", "New Posts" "Search", etc., I clicked the little down arrow
beside "Search". In the little drop-down box, click Show Threads. Type in
"Blueaugust" and it should bring up threads by Blueaugust.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I can be of further help.

Blessings,
