Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm in the waiting room typing this as I wait on my daughter in law to have my FIRST grandchild. Went in this AM for a routine checkup (about a week overdue) and they sent her straight to the hospital.

Went in a few minutes ago for a c-section. They requested to NOT know what it was until it was born... (I'm thinking a boy).

I feel the 'grandbuddy' spirit coming on me.

I feel the spirit of "Aunt Weldy" coming on!!!

(That is what my niece called me when she was real little. She got mad at me for correcting her, and Uncle John said "what's they matter with Uncle John's girl, who did sompan to it?" She turned her little head and looked right at me and said, "Welda did!!!!!" Needless to say I got taken to task about it, but I got over it."

My Father-In-Law just passed away about 5 months ago. His name was Marion Huston Harris. He had 5 daughters, a female dog with six female pups. There are 12 grand daughters and my two sons are the ONLY boys.

My Mother-In-Law has been weeping since the baby was born. It's name? Bentley Marion Andrew...

I Love the NAME!!!!

They have been settled on the 'Bentley Andrew' for a long time... the 'Marion' was to honor his grandfather... an Apostolic Pastor of some 40 years.

I kind of like the name, too. Of course, at this point it could be named Barodachbaladan Shalmanezar and I wouldn't mind.

Steadfast, let me tell you a great paw paw story.

When our little boy was born, this was my FILs first Grandchild.

He completly forgot every word in the english language except the word "Paw Paw" which he walked around sayin incessantly.

when he sees the boy, 2 years later, he yells "PawPaw" at him.

Now when little Levi prays the only word one can understand of his toddler talk is "pawpaw" and "Amen".

LOL Be thankful they didn't name him that.... can you imagine him trying to spell that name in Kindergarten?

I did a baby dedication for a little girl some time back for whom I had to alter the entire baby dedication certificate. The name?

Dashay Dreonia Dujuajinay Yvette Fontenot

She's be in college before she spells that one.

They call her 'Shay'.

He looks like his mom!!!!! (Sorry, Steadfast :) )

Yep... but God can forgive him if he learns how to pray! :yahoo

I'm just getting back home at 1:50 AM. Amazingly, I only held him twice - the first time for about 2 minutes and the second time for about 2 minutes. NOT that he lacked for someone holding him, however, with...

1 great grandmother
2 sets of grandparents
2 great aunts
3 aunts
1 uncle
1 second cousin
1 youth leader and wife

... and about 15 other Saints from the Church in the room at one time.

Yes, I left and went to the waiting room down the hall to read the news. Frankly, there were some parts of Hell that weren't as hot as that room was and the line for a cancer cure wouldn't have been as long as the one waiting to hold the baby.

Finally they all left (except my wife and I and my Mother-In-Law) and I spent a while looking... and crying... and praying... and looking... and crying... and praying... and... well, I think you get the picture.

Surely God is better to me - Grandbuddy or not - than I could ever deserve.

I am a blessed man.:praying

Well, yesterday I had some 'Pastoral' situations that kind of took the joy out of having a baby. (ONLY a Pastor would understand that) However, this morning I awakened at the rising of the sun, tapped my wife on the shoulder waking her up, and said, "I have a grandbuddy!".

I was up and gone in short order. TODAY I feel like a Grandbuddy... and THIS is what I rushed to get my hands on.

Still am thrilled about your new addition.
These are one of the few instances in our Christian walk where one has leeway to be proud.

BTW not to change the subject but how did it go with preaching for those other denominal Churches if I may ask?
