Since Harvestime went to the land of Dorothy and Toto, there isn't a common theme everyone can latch onto. Every year they come up with some catchy little phrase to motivate the troops. What should the new upci mission statement be? Any Ideas? I would hope for serious responses. If one feels for a nutty comment, (and I have at least a dozen) start another thread.
A mission statement is a clear concise statement of what the organization is all about. The mission statement has to make sense to the novice reader. When someone reads the mission, he or she ought to know exactly what motivates the organization.
UPCI Mission Statement: Jesus. Others. You.

What's wrong with a mission statement? John 3:16 is a mission statement. Why such cerebral behavior?

Uhhh!!!! You don't know how much I is or isn't a part of the upci. Even so, it is irrelevant to the topic.

My dad and I were estranged and had been for 4 or 5 years when he went to his reward. This exacerbates my regrets and my longing for an opportunity to just sit and talk and make up for those years i foolishly wasted!

That's got to be real difficult, bro. Dad and I were the best of friends and it still hurts.

The man needs help.
You start a thread on a mission statement. And the comedowns show up...... [coming down on me, coming down on you]...he needs to come on down to earth.:tvhappy

Thanks for the song, Dan. I was very touched to read how dear your relationship with your father was and how much you miss him.
God bless you, brother.

Well that is a first... I think... Coop has me on ignore! He probably ignores everyone who loves him. I am one of the least critical of you Coop. Do you have everyone whom you consider to be in any way traditional on ignore or just the folks who are honest with you?
Jshorts,
As for "in the box" you have no idea "how much I is or isn't" (to quote you) in or out of the box. The fact that I find you and Coop to be two fellows lost in the same canyon shouting echoes back and forth to one another, thinking the multitude of voices means you are supported, sadly amusing does not put me in our out of the box. It just makes the two of you amusing and much alike, the commonality being your ability to be negative or snide in everything you say about the kind of churches that birthed you both!
It is not easy for the wounded and acidic to take an honest look at themselves because they are afraid of what grotesque visage will be peering back at them from the mirror!

I almost would like to know what facts you are basing your insinuations. Your spiritual radar is so far out of whack on this one. I hope it's not indicitive of future performance in real world. Would you like to add substance to the thread or would you rather join the world of William Price and add absolutely nothing of value?
