I think I'm up for the challenge. I have been a part of global, but I believe my membership has lapsed. I am closely aligned with Christ Church in Nashville. I have served on the board of Global in the past.
A little more about myself. I was a UPC pastor's son from Ottawa Illinois. I went to Wheaton College to major in Biblical Studies. I met many other Christians with a deep authentic walk with the Lord. I moved to Columbia Missouri after receiving my BA and worked in a UPC church and married my wife Melanie. After two years I moved to Louisville KY to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary intending to become a UPC chaplain in the Army. I was a reserve chaplain, but by the end of seminary, both my wife and I knew we were not going to be able to stay in the UPC with our beliefs. Graduated with an MDiv and my wife recieved an MSW. Moved to Oklahoma City to work as a hospital chaplain. I became involved in Global during this time.
I felt called to pastor and Bro. Hadwick from Nashville helped me find a church in Murphysboro IL which was former UPC. It is now called Christ Community Church. I have three great kids, Natalie, Kristiana, and Noah. While in Murphysboro I commuted to Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena CA and received my Doctor of Ministry degree. That's why I'm Dr. Phil. This week I'm heading for Kenya for two weeks of mission.
One of my best friends from high school was a "spirit filled" Methodist girl who went to Kenya on mission and contracted malaria and died. She asked to be buried with the people. God called me to ministry at her funeral. One of the first things I will do will be to visit her grave in Mombasa Kenya which is a simple wooden cross that says, for me to live is Christ and to die is gain.

I am pretty familiar with CC in Nashville. I have been there before. My father attends there when he is not going with my step mother to her church. Also there are some CC members on this board. I want to welcome you again and I am sure that we will be speaking more as the days go on.

Hey Dr.!
Sorry I missed this initial intro of yours. I did read a few of your posts in another thread, but had no idea it was THE DR PHIL I was reading!
Welcome aboard bro! If you get more time please start a thread and share your African trip adventures. Our membership would love that.
Blessings, from your humble sophomoric non-Dr brother-in-law Hoovie.
