View Full Version : Surprises In The Top 10 Most Polluted Cities In USA
I just read an article about the ten cities with the worst air pollution in the USA.
Some where obvious, like Los Angeles as number one, but a couple were shockers!
Can you believe that Indianapolis and Birmingham are on the top ten list????

Wasn't Tulsa #1 or right up there? I'm not surprised about that one at all!
I was actually surprised that L.A was still #1.
They have done a lot to try to fix that problem over the years.
It's actually not that bad until it gets really hot. when it gets hot the Air doesn't move. on the west side (coast) it's always nice.
L.A is stuck in a bowl surrounded by mountains so the air sometimes gets stuck.
I saw that Bakersfield is like #2 or #3. it's just on the other side of the mountian from L.A
I knew H-town was there ... but worst than NYC ... ouch.
Go to USA today and you will find the article.

I'm surprised that Houston was not even numbered at all...at least not in the top 24. That's amazing, especially considering all the Petro Chemical plants around big "H."

The association found that the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Riverside metropolitan area had the worst air based on 2003 through 2005 figures.
The Pittsburgh area was ranked as the nation's second most polluted metropolitan area followed by Bakersfield, Calif., Birmingham, Ala., Detroit and Cleveland. Visalia, Calif., Cincinnati, Indianapolis and St. Louis rounded out the top 10.
