It is a Ministers only magazine . . . I had to steal it from my father who's a minister! :lol

I tried helping him fill out the survey ballot sheet, but he did it himself. I only disagreed with him on a few choices he made, otherwise he did good.

I have received my Forward. I did learn a great deal from the information provided.

I thought that the Pro sub committee made better discussion than the con subcommittee. Also I felt like they (con subcommitee) reprinted much of the same information that they printed in the book. I would like to say that I thought it was a unfortunate that the book writers made some of their article personal while they should of stuck to a general discussion.

I have been and still consider myself undecided....and most likely will make a final decision based on the information at general conference. I hope a few more of my questions could be answered before I vote.

However if I was to rate the information provided in the Forward....I would state that I was more pursuaded by the Pro TV information.

Lots of good info in the Forward. I have not filled out the survey yet. But the questions asked were very relevant to the issue at hand.

Thanks,

MO

He likely would share it, were I that interested. It is available to me from multiple sources.

To be honest, I am not aware of any prohibition, written or otherwise, in sharing the content of the Forward. (unless you refer to copywright litigation issues)

Please elucidate.

Do you think it is unethical for a minister to allow anyone else to read the Forward? Or are you refering to the reproduction of copywritten materials?

Both.

I am a prude in the eyes of some and think BOTT should not be accessable to all either either- including tapes. I saw one lady get all confused after watching a BOTT tape. ** The Fortune 500 has companies who do not allow everyone to attend a sales or management meeting. Some items of discussion are not needed for all saints.

:preach

** This is not a bash of BOTT- a great meeting.

On this we agree, and I can see how at least some of the Forward content would apply.

Honestly just give one example of "confidential minstry" info.

BOTT was started as a preacher's only meeting and some of the content is directed at preachers only.

I'd have to disagree. When BOTT first started out, saints were allowed to go. I remember this because in the mid-late 80s Bro. Jeff Arnolds saints rolled in deep and filled several rows when he preached.

BOTT moved from being open to being Pastors, Ministers and Church Workers only. This was in the early 90s that happened. I was there for several years because of that allowance.

It was only a few years ago that they completely closed it to licensed ministers and wives only.

And it's ~not~ due to content issues, it's due to seating issues. Bro. Mangun has resisted the temptation to rent out an arena and have it like a GC or what Landmark used to be. Even though I'm unable to go for now, I fully respect and agree with his decision. Moving to an arena would take away from the impact and power of BOTT.

Again, it didn't start "preachers only" and content wasn't the reason it's now preachers only. It's about seating availability.

You are correct! I last attended BOTT in 1990 (if memory serves me correct) and either the next year or very soon thereafter it became a ministers only meeting.

As you stated that was due strictly to seating ability. They did not want any preachers to miss the meeting because lay people were in the pews.
