I heard about this. While the story makes it sound like some of the church members involved are actually attempting to show some compassion and general friendliness to the strippers, the pastor seems to think he is a Christian version of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton trying to drum up as much media hype as possible in an effort to close down the club (and loose ALL chance of actually ministering to the club owners and women there).

This stuff is so stupid. Not only does it alienate the church from it's target audience, but it will also increase the business of this strip club eventually. For the club, it's free publicity and like they say, "There's no such thing as bad publicity."

I just visited last week with a person I taught home bible study to. His sister was a stripper. She came to church a few times.

People such as this are very likely to receive Christ if approached with love since their lives are (generally and most likely) lacking in so many ways. To be confrontational with them is the exact wrong way to reach them.
