Not sure this would fly in a UPC church cause it might be mistaken for a TV. YIKES!

What would be even cooler is if you can send him a quick text "Your fly is down" or something in case of emergencies

Many larger UPC churches have TV's ....er.....monitors all over the place for image magnification, feeds to the foyer, nursery, etc.

Apparently the days of them thinking the actual picture tube stole your soul (like African natives with still cameras years ago) is long gone. Now you have to go to the WPF to find those folks (and then even one of them has multiple video camera web broadcasts)!

WOW!!!

This is so typical of what is happening to the "modern" church.

It's heading for hell in a hand basket faster than a ball bearing on a greased plank.

Could you imagine Jesus or the Apostles Peter or Paul preaching from something like that? or using an iPad? or using Power Point? or using anything but a King James Bible, specifically the Thompson Chain edition with Oneness insert available from the PPH?

Nah, if that huge oak pulpit that dominated center platform was good enough for Jesus and the Apostles it should be good enough for us who re-discovered their message in 1913 and codified it in the Manual.

Remove not the ancient landmarks!!!

"Return to me and my old time ways, my people, and save yourselves from the emergent church," saith the Lord.

Halleluyer!!!! gasp! pant! Glooooory ta God!!! spit! sweat and snot!!!!!!

It's not big, grand and royalty-reinforcing enough for some :)

Looks practical to me.

I don't like it... An ipad right above your Bible seems like it would be distracting to me... But maybe I'm just judging by the way I'm easily distracted myself and not giving today's preacher's enough credit. lol

I dunno, why not just go whole hog and get the TelePrompTer put in and just skip the Bible and the iPad? If it's good enough for the President and every newsreader on every TV network, it's good enough for your preacher, no?

:ursofunny Just do away with pulpits and have them stand in front of teleprompter 'monitors'?

Seriously though, I haven't been in any church services in about 10 years except for a small Methodist church that I went to with my in-laws for some special events. Are ipad's, laptops, etc. on the pulpit becoming a common thing? I work for a software company and am married to a computer programmer so I have no problem with technology, but using a computer while preaching just seems... weird. To me. lol

Love this thing! it is way cool.

it is amazing how technology touches everything.

the other day i was commenting that I had not picked my bible up to read in months.

but at the same time, I read scripture more now than ever. computers, internet and my iphone have made my beautiful Thompson Chain a relic

I WANT ONE OF THOSE PULPITS. Can someone donate it to our church? Then I will work on donations for an IPAD. :thumbsup

I currently use my laptop on the pulpit.

I'm waiting for that time when a preacher asks the audience to hold up their bibles so I can wave my iPhone in the air!!!

For our annual youth event next year, we're going to have an all iPad band for a 1 song :)

At church yesterday I was surprised to see this older guy probably about 60 using his iphone to read the scriptures as the Pastor preached. Very common among young folks but not so much among us older ones.
