Did you know that if you didn't know how to style your Apostolic Hair that you can learn via YouTube videos? I am not posting any here incase the person a specific video is on this site, reads this site, or whatever.

I heard today that "Apostolic Hair" was a trend on YouTube today due to the upcoming General Conference.

Speaking of hairstyles, my wife was a teenager when she got saved. As a new convert she was horrified when the pastor's grand daughter and another teenage girl (my wife's cousin and later the wife of a UPC minister) got their hair cut for Ohio UPC Youth Camp. They had enough cut off to manage it but left it long enough to fix in an "Apostolic/Pentecostal" style. At that time teen age girls in Apostolic churches wore their hair down in a "page boy" style.

Sam, I think that it a shame that this doesn't happen more often. Something is coming to Pentecost, IMO. I think that many peoples vision of how things are 'suppose' to be will actually begin to shift.

In the 80's you could purchase a booklet from headquarters on hair styling.

It had pictures and step by step instructions so ladies could fix their long hair.

I donated my copy long ago. Sometimes I wish I still had just to prove it existed!

Also from the 80's, there was a lovely young gal from LA that traveled to various churches and did hair styling demonstrations.

I and several other ladies drove in a van 300+ miles to attend one of these sessions. It was fun. I volunteered to be a model. There were other churches that also drove to be part of this.

Nothing wrong with ladies getting together and having a good time. :bliss
There was a Friday night session and a Sat morning session.

But it seems sad that we would need to devote that much effort on our hair.

Maybe we could put that focus and energy into something with real importance!!

This would be the opposite of the Infamous Hair Cutting parties that were talked about as truth, but later confirmed as not begin true.

It is sad that so much time is given/devoted to hair and half the time is still looks poor. I.E. General Conference

Pretty sure I still have "Hairdo's in a Hurry" somewhere, purchased at some conference in the 90's. I noticed all the youtube videos a couple of days ago... interesting. Times are changin! Making any kind of "movie" of yourself was considered sin back when I was growing up UPC. lol

Didn't they find that the oldest known pictures of the apostles, from like the 2nd Century or so, showed that apostolic hair, in the truest sense of the word, is actually most similar to what we would call a "mullet"? :heeheehee
