I wish we could have met. Werent you here in 1999? We moved here in June of that year.

That song always gives me goosebumps!!!
If you listen to that I think it anwers the question of why some of us prefer a traditional bricks and mortar church to house church with five people and a guitar.
If you are a home missions work or foreign missions work and you are starting out that is understandable but if you are in a situation with enough folks to get together and make beautiful music onto the Lord it is a blessing!!!
99 and 2000
We probably passed each other in the foyer every Sunday. Were you an early or late service goer?
I was late service except during the NFL season when I was an early service saint. Back then I had two vendors who insured I was a guest at almost every Titans game. Ah. those were the days!!

That song always gives me goosebumps!!!
Me too! Thanks for sharing....
Joy Gardner has such a smooth voice. You can't hear her well on that clip but she is amazing.
She was the 1976 Dove Award winner for female vocalist of the year in Gospel Music!!!!
Which gives you an idea of how old she is which makes her voice even more amazing. A lot of women start getting a funny vibrato at her age but she is still silky smooth.
Joy and Marietta remind me a lot of each other in their voices.

Where's the clip of the PRAISE BREAK?!?!?!?! lol!
Where's the clip of the PRAISE BREAK?!?!?!?! lol!
You ought to see it when Joy breaks out running down the center aisle! That is why they didn't show the whole thing.
The brass players throw their instruments into the crowd and started running around the outer aisles of the church.
I just wish Thad's choir could be as demonstrative as the CC choir. Maybe someday they will loosen up and let it rip!

I know, I know, you all have to take a few days to clean up all the false eyelashes, broken earrings, toupees, broken necklaces, mascara drip stains, lipstick smears and all sorts of other liberal paraphernalia strewn about the sanctuary!

That was cruel, the Bible says for everything to give thanks, nothing about having any of those things on.

Be sure and let Pianoman and myself know when you do get to come through as I would like to meet you and I am sure he would also.
I have met more people than I ever imagined I would from FCF, NFCF and now AFF over the last few years. Over ten people and sometimes their families have come through Nashville and I have gotten to meet them!
We are blessed with a great choir and musicians. Being Nashville there is an abundance of musical talent. You don't have to have good music to worship God but it sure makes it easier!

It will be a "no cheese zone" this weekend! you would have really hated it a few months ago when my sister in law was working for a gourmet cheese company. Our fridge was full of expensive gourmet cheeses back then! I loved it. I got to try some expensive cheeses I would never have bought.
I should be losing weight now that the cheese is mostly gone!

The Skinner would love it, but not me. eewww, I can't hardly stand the smell.
The only cheese I eat is on pizza and that's because you can't taste it.:highfive

I have heard about his place and seen some press on it. You should see the subdivision Mr. Smith lives in! Until they complete a large road with access to it a couple of years ago it was hidden away down a small paved road. You come around a corner and you are looking down on a little valley of mansions with probably 5 acre yards. It is a gated community but I have caught the gates open before or followed someone in and have driven around. Very beautiful.
You ought to come to the CC Music Conference this summer. It is not a shockmaoo one but I think they have a lot of good classes and the choir and guest groups are good.

Nope. I am going to arrange my work schedule so I have the afternoon off. I will PM you directions to the house. Depending on how tired you guys are we might drive around a little in the countryside before dinner so you can see how pretty Middle Tennessee is.

ohh.. right.. the neck that turns the head!! haha.. well, at the church I used to attend there were two chairs that faced the congregation.
to our right was the pastors chair.. and to the left of him was the chair for either the assistant minister or the evangelist..
That'd be kewl. I'd like to see some "famous" houses too, if we could.
I know where a lot of cool mansions are but I don't know who lives in them! I do know where George Jones lives but all you can see is his gate and huge yard except in the middle of winter when you can glimpse his house through the dead trees!
If you guys are up for a pretty long drive we can go across to Brentwood / Franklin area nad look at a beautiful hidden subdivision of mansions where Michael W. Smith lives.

I have had business reasons to go to Gallatin a lot the last few months and I pass by Reba's each time. Her barn looks like a fine home!!! Her actual home is so secluded you can only get a glimpse of it as you cross the bridge since it is just off the shoreline.
For awhile I thought her barn was her mansion (LOL) until someone pointed her house to me.
I used to live about 9 miles from George Jones. About three years ago there was a nice home in his neighborhood for sale for just a million dollars but Pianoman wouldn't loan me the $999,999 I was short so I couldn't get it.
