Hey. Name's Kyle. Glad to be on a forum where I'll actually be able to discuss the Gifts of the Holy Spirit without be harassed for it ^_^. I'm 27, was at one point baptist, but after marrying my wife that I met on ChristianCafe.com, she got me to read the Bible with her for ourselves and found out that much I had been taught in the baptist church was totally false. Now I'm a tongue-talking, health-speaking, devil-fighting charismatic Holy Spirit filled believer, thank God! I'm glad to be on here and look forward to the fellowship!

Later, brothers and sisters!

Kyle, what type of Baptist? Are you suggesting Baptists don't believe in the gifts of the Spirit? What is "false" to you?

Welcome to the forum

I was saved at the age of 17 on March 28, 1955 and later got baptized and joined a Baptist Church. We were taught that the gifts of the Spirit were temporary and ceased after the written New Testament was completed in the first century. Through reading the Bible, listening to some ministers on the radio, and reading books, magazines, etc. I realized the gifts of the Spirit were given to the church and would not cease until the church was perfected at the rapture.

On October 27, 1955 I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at Elim Tabernacle (UPC) in Milwaukee, WI and on May 20, 1956 (Pentecost Sunday) I was baptized in the Spirit at Bethel Tabernacle (UPC) in Racine, WE
