Weather breaking, time to get the bassin gear ready. Gonna make a trip soon to a basspro shop with some dough from tax return.

Don't be bitter by brothers up north! Your time coming in a couple months. In the 80s here. :happydance

It's been way too windy to take the boat out.

I got a kayak and I can go to small ponds that are sunk down some many trees to help with wind.

Already done, got tax return back about two weeks ago, wife let me have 600 for bassin gear upgrades.

Went to the river weekend before last, caught a couple stripers. Went to the lake last weekend, caught a couple bass, couple crappie and a pike.

they are still a little slow and deep but are starting to move. Vacation in 3 weeks. Taking the first half of the week at Greers Ferry, lakeside condo. The second half taking the camper trailer and boat to Degray. If history and the forcast are any indicator then water temps should be around 65 and the crappie spawning.

The one with me in the water is when my pole fell in water, of course being a true fisherman I went in after it.

Other pic is at a pond I go to sometimes.

For scotty

Went for first time last week. Caught 8 bass, nothin big. but excited i caught them all new bait Ihave never used before, so that was fun.

First one was a fluke, had to learn the action and when they hit it, does seem like some can be subtles. but it was fun.

Second was Jackall flick shake worms, and they are great. The action is worth the low durablity. If you haven't tried any I think you should give a shot, lot of fun. you can google it to see video in action. Got some good hits on them

Keep pics and tips posted here, I'd enjoy it.

I sold my bass boat a few years ago. I just bought a top sit 12' kayak last week. My brother has been using one the past 2 years bass fishing and he loves it, and it's a lot less expensive-no gas and no licensing. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot. Gonna try to hit the "slower traffic" parts of the lake crappie and bass fishin, and the rivers for the smallies and goggle eyes.

I got a kayak with a troller motor. Alot of fun.

Just back off vacation. Not much doin around here. Simply not warming up like this time last year. Water temp is still in the mid to low 50's. Fish are hanging out down about 15 to 20 feet. Supposed to stay in the 50's all week with the weekend warming up to the 70's, still not enough to bring up the water temps.

Oh God help us! The carnality of AFF has certainly fallen. The next thing you know these two will be going to football games! Did you take your Bible with you? Did you stop to use it? (Okay, I'm aware some of the Apostles were fishermen. But, they quit that carnal stuff when Jesus called them!) Just kiddin' ... really j/k! Have fun! Sure would like to have a plate full of bass! Mmn! I could easily get carnal!

Ahhh yes, funny how this thread was resurrected at just the right time.

I work today through Saturday, then off for a 13 day vacation.

Yep, goin to the lake. temps in the 80's , Crappie will start spawning next week.

Only got $3000 tax return this year, but fishin gear is still strong. Just need to pick up some new baits.

I've never fished for bass, but I've heard (and seen on TV) Lake Tawakoni and Lake Fork in east Texas are excellent for bassin'...

Good luck!

I got some new gear to add to my kayak, rod holders, tackle box holder etc..I have to mount on. Saturday my brother took his kayak and his buddy borrowed mine, and they marked quite a few of what looked to be some hot spot areas on his gps because the lake was way down where they could see brush etc...

I'm anxious to go. Coming out of a slow winter (as always) into busy work schedule doesn't allow for a whole lot of fishing tho...

If you haven't already get a trolling motor for it. You will be glad you did.

I bought me a three seat boat last year. Kayak great for ponds and places boats can't get to.
