I certainly believe that the baptism of The Holy Ghost and the exercise of Spiritual gifts are for today.
Having said this, what are misconceptions that people are told about a post Holy Ghost experience or feel after having received the baptism of The Holy Ghost ?
Have you heard someone tell someone after you get The Holy Ghost you will never have a desire to sin ?
I recently heard of a man, that said after I get The Holy Ghost I'll be perfect.
Maybe you have heard some post Holy Ghost misconceptions before ?

The biggie is "Now remember, that old devil is going to tell you you never received it tomorrow morning!".

so natural questioning of what happened would not happen? Doubt and questioning is always a tool of satan.

Reminds me of Post-Acts 2:38 misconceptions. Keep in mind I am an Acts 2:38'er!
Acts 2:38 was claimed to be the be-all to end-all. The answer to all problems. The ultimate experience! The goal of all goals. Yet it is ONLY THE DOOR!

This may not be a misconception Scott. If indeed one has repented, been baptized into Jesus Christ and received the Holy Spirit at that moment I believe they are perfect as to their standing with Christ.
They are given a spotless robe of righteousness. However they are NOT PERFECT as to their knowledge.

Right, nor their behaviour.

Well what this fellow meant was he would be perfect in his behaviour. Now I not talking about being complete in Christ. Now The Holy Ghost gives us power to live clean if we yield to it. But seem think if they get the Holy Ghost they'll never sin again,or their sin nature will eradicated.

Well maybe his attitude was wrong? Im sure you are a wise judge of character. As far as I can tell tho scripture teaches through and through that the children of light need not commit sin and should be advised they take great risk if they do.

Of course we know not it is not for Christians to have a lifestyle of habitual sin,but if we do sin we can repent. But The Holy Ghost is not a cure all fix all like some think.

Hmmm....well sure if one sins they can repent. Altho taking into account all scripture sometimes there will be chastening to accept.
I do believe if one abides in Jesus that the Holy Spirit (his indwelling life) is a cure all when it comes to knowing the Lord and overcoming sin.
Its not a cure all for someone who does not deny self take the cross and follow him tho.

I agree it's not a cure all if ones does not deny himself and take up his cross in discipleship.

Take up the cross, a lot of people need to see themselves as having been on the cross if they really want to head down the road of perfection. Until the day that the children of God get a revelation of what they really are as God sees them, they will struggle with sin and perfection all the days of their lives.
Most of them will spend their time here on earth repenting over and over again for the same sins that they cannot seem to overcome. The preachers will continue Sunday after Sunday preaching and teaching and still they won't get it. The fact that they are new creatures and no longer natural men but spiritual beings living in the kingdom of the Lord Jesus.
All I can say is the ones who have been to Acts 2;38 now need to get up and keep going on to the other things that Jesus has given unto the church. We are not being made the sons of God, we are the sons of God, now, what is it that the Lord would have us do in that administration position.
