Now that I have totally shocked you...
I heard a taped sermon years ago by this title. Don't remember the speaker and refused to listen to the tape for a long time. Someone said, "Its not what you think". So I listened.... turned out to be a really good message which resulted in some people coming to the Lord. One thing I remember was....
"and we know that God heareth not sinners" Jhn 9:31 That is a lie spoken by someone in the Bible becasue we know God hears the sinners prayer of repentance.
BTW, I posted this on a another thread, but I wanted to get some more feedback.
Can you think of any more "Lies in the Bible"?

Wow. OneAccord I posted a thread about when does a lie become a lie and I think you have topped that one for sure. In view of my previous thread I guess this would have to be considered a lie? I guess! I don't know!

Did Moses lie to Pharaoh when he said he wanted to take the Israelites on a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to their God?

I think the verse relates to the fact that God does not answer the sinners daily prayers and requests, because he is not obligated to do so. But, he will hear their prayer when they are ready to repent of their sinful ways and then, will answer them.
I believe God knows and hears all things so that verse cannot mean he doesn't hear them, it means he cannot answer them in regard to his principles of truth.

Is He obligated to hear believers' daily prayers and requests?
Abraham said that Sarah was his sister, which was only partly true.

This is probably why the oath in a courtroom is so specific: the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! :lol

Josh 2:4 But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. 5 At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate, they left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.”

Actually your view of that is off. It is about present SIN. God cannot hear a prayer that is at enmity with him. People pray for their wishes and with evil desires. Because a person has sinned does not mean their heart is not humbled before God. They are not NOT in sin but actually acting RIGHTEOUSLY! That does not mean they are saved but that they are right of heart for God to move and bring about his promised should they continue to respond right of heart.
Sarah being afraid said, "I did not laugh." The Lord said unto here, "No, but you did laugh."
Sarah lied in fear to the Lord. (the paraphrase is mine)

No, my veiw isn't off. The phrase I quoted (John 9:31) was an answer given to the disciples by the man that was born blind that Jesus had healed. He was stating that he didn't know who Jesus was, but that He (Jesus) must have been a true worshipper of God because God had honored His prayer. He was saying that Jesus could not have ben a sinner because "God heareth not a sinner".
The quoted phrase, taken out of context, and removed from its original pprpose to stand alone is not true. God does hear the sinnners prayer of repentance.
