I hear a lot of people disparage organized religion as if it is the Great Satan. I used to believe those people who did so were atheists, agnostics and people unfamiliar with church culture. Now I'm not so sure.

There is a lot to be wary of. So much evil takes place in the name of God, and under the banner of religion.

- Ecclesiastical politicos who use fellow ministers, parishioners and the lost as human resources whose sole purpose is to build an edifice, and amass wealth, in the name of said politico.

- Denominations who routinely fleece the faithful through massive amounts of guilt advertising and then use the "donations" to support bloated bureaucracies.

- Lazy, unmotivated congregants who only attend church to feel good and/or network.

No, I highly doubt the I'm-against-organized-religion crowd is comprised of those completely ignorant of religion. In fact, they have it pegged.
