That was a smart judge! lol

But obviously the church cannot be blamed for God answering the prayer, since God would either answer or not answer according to His ultimate will. lol

Very smart judge. And shame on that pastor for backpedaling. :rolleyes2 He should have said, "Yes, we prayed, but unless you believe in God, you cannot possibly believe we are responsible. If you do, please sue God."

If the judge allowed this case, wouldn't that be the secular government legally admitting God exists?

It may have been that the building was simply hit by lightning and the Baptist church's opposition was coincidental to that event. Ecclesiastes 9:11.

Lots of stuff gets hit by lightning in NE Texas. Remember those Baptist school children who were killed by lightning?

While the judge's words were laden with irony and both funny and poignant, if I were judge I would probably have to rule that one thing didn't have anything to do with the other.
