I was reading a recent news item regarding Hamas's attack on Israel and Israel's response. Always when I read these I am confronted with the terms of war being "reciprocal" responses. Israel is only allowed to go "tit4tat". Who invented these rules of engagement? If someone is attacking you and you want them to stop your goal is to obliterate the enemy or attack them so powerfully as to force them to concede defeat

I guess we'll see Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, Mahmoud Achmadinejad, Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, the Arab League, and others of that ilk condemning Israel for fighting back, maybe another UN resolution, and maybe cries for a US/Nato led humanitarian expedition into Israel or maybe a no fly zone for Israel only, or maybe a hue and cry to try Israel in a world court for acts of terrorism.
