Tax his land, tax his bed,
Tax the table at which he's fed.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his ties, tax his shirt,
Tax his work, tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco, tax his drink.
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his cigars, tax his beers,
If he cries, then tax his tears.

Tax his car, tax his gas,
Find other ways to tax his a**.
Tax all he has, then let him know
That you won't be done 'till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Tax him some more.
Tax him 'till he's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin, tax his grave.
Tax the sod in which he's laid.

Put these words upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me to my doom."

When he's gone, do not relax.
It's time to apply the inheritance tax.

Thats about right. Over 20% of my income goes to income tax (SSI, FED, State) and property tax. Of course that does not take in account all the other sales taxes and fees etc.

Still the best country to live in IMHO. :)

Let me tell you
How it will be.
There's one for you,
Nineteen for me,

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Should five percent
Appear too small,
Be thankful I don't
Take it all.

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

If you drive a car,
I'll tax the street.
If you drive to city,
I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold,
I'll tax the heat.
If you take a walk,
I'll tax your feet.

Taxman!

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Don't ask me what I want it for,
(Uh-uh, Mr. Wilson.)
If you don't want to pay some more.
(Uh-uh, Mr. Heath.)

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

And my advice to
Those who die.
(Taxman!)
Declare the pennies
On your eyes.
(Taxman!)

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman,
And you're working for no one but me.
(Taxman!)

I thought the national average was 45 percent of our earnings is paid out in various taxes. I don't remember where or when I saw that figure. It's just stored in my mind somewhere.

My federal with holding from my monthly pension check in 2011 is 139 percent of what it was in 2010. Thanks, BHO.

On a paycheck stub my deductions are 37%, but this includes taxes, soc sec, family health ins, 401k etc. But It Is money I never see :foottap

My husband finally filed our taxes last week. The only reason we managed a refund this year was the $1500 tax credit for our new siding........not actually the siding but the insulation installed under the siding.

Our state has the highest cell phone tax in the usa; plus we have high property taxes and car lic fees. But our water, gas, elec bills are lower than much of the country.
If one tax disappears you can be sure it will be taken under another name.:girlytantrum
