I've never seen the forum as dead as it has been the past week.

It's obviously time for you to start a controversial thread, then.
LOL!!!!! So you are pronouncing AFF "over"???? I haven't looked at the numbers but I have seen plenty of new threads and posting going on here.
I think forums have natural ebbs and flows depending on weather, outside events, etc. I also think you are a bit premature. Perhaps wishful thinking on your part?

Where did I "pronounce" anything?
It was a question, and a general observation.
Why ascribe an evil motive?
This place is very slow. Slower than I've ever seen it.

It's been slow because I have been gone for a week.
Those of you who need REAL answers may resume posting. I'm back.

We tend to get really slow every time the weather gets nicer outside. Wait until it's a bazillion degrees outside and everyone is back in the house. ;)

LOL... I hear ya.
I don't have one anymore. The free forum site went the way of the Do Do Bird.
But I'd like to have seen these numbers. LOL...

That, and I think most forums are less busy than they used to be due to social sites like fb. :igotit The only place I visit that's [way] busier than this one is my homeschool forum.

It's the nature of forums - - and some of our "big" talkers aren't here as much (like me).

I am kinda glad my forum is WAY more dead than this, last thing I need is more headaches. Though actually I don't mind so much if people are gripey, obnoxious and hard to live with *IF* they are clicking the ads everyday. :D

I found the premise of the thread to be much like someone posing the question "Has so and so stopped beating their wife?". Not accusing the person of doing the act exactly but insinuating they are by asking if they have stopped.
No big deal. I just found it amusing. Particularly in light of no great change in our activity other than normal ebbs and flows.

It'll pick up once conferences and children/teen/family camps are over. AFF will be littered with stories, I'm sure of it.

What'll happen to AFF after 5/21/11? :heeheehee
It's spring. People are outside. Although there is snow in the forecast here and there are still tiny pockets of snow here and there. UGH! I am READY FOR SPRING!!

I keep looking at the forum to see if there's any action and it seems like the only conversations that are worthwhile or have very many posts are the ones that are dug up from the past. Is AFF going in the tank? What's the deal?

It's just spring fever, Charnock.
Mama bear, 5/21 has been predicted by someone to be the end of the world or the rapture or something.

Service will take in Fido after the Rapture, for a fee
The Rapture could leave a lot of dogs and cats looking longingly at their food bowls after their owners have floated off to heaven. That’s where Bart comes in.
In 2009, he launched Eternal Earth-Bound Pets USA. Bart guarantees that if or when the Rapture comes he or one of his 44 contractors in 26 states will drive to your home within 24 hours, collect your dog, cat, bird, rabbit or small caged mammal, and adopt it. (Rapture rescue services for horses, camels, llamas and donkeys are limited to New Hampshire, Vermont, Idaho and Montana.)

I bet Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, USA (http://eternal-earthbound-pets.com/Home_Page.html), is pretty busy signing new clients, these days. And I hope they have all read the terms and conditions (http://eternal-earthbound-pets.com/Terms_and_Conditions.html), such as:
If subscriber loses his/her faith and/or the Rapture occurs and subscriber is not Raptured (aka is "left behind") EE-BP disclaims any liability; no refund will be tendered.

You want to know whats slow? My current internet speed at this school! THAT is what is slow. I'm trying to do an Oracle install on a test server so a number of the admin staff can start playing with it before it goes live in a few months and I am seeing between 30 and 80 kbits per second download -and these are multi gig files.

Those 158 guests aren't actual people, from what I've heard some people say here. I remember reading someone saying they're spiders or robots or something like that, I don't know, some internet term for locaters from search engines, i can't remember. But I know they're not people. That's a phony number so don't get too excited.

That is too funny. No its 17,000 gallons of cool water. Its surrounded by a nice screened privacy area. In fact I am about to re-baptize myself this am.lol. The luxury comes with the house we lease.

Yep. Its like the upc/wpf the "split" weakened the traffic and diversity of both.
I do think aff is missing the element that Dan,NOW,Max brought t the forum. The 316 is more of a thinkers forum, but there is some elment of that militant liberalism, IMO.
Aff's not over.....yet. Who here even believes 3 steps tongues standards for salvation anymore?

Right now there aer 16 members online and 200 guests. How much of that number represents lurkers?

the only real way to guestimate is to go resolve each IP first and see where they resolve to
