Quotes from our President at the Easter Prayer Breakfast at the White House

"critical national debates" are raging, and "my plate has been full as well. The in-box keeps accumulating. But then comes Holy Week ...

"As busy as we are, as many tasks as pile up, during this season, we are reminded that there is something about the resurrection ... of Our Savior Jesus Christ that puts everything else in perspective."

I agree with Bishop Jakes, may God open the eyes of his understanding that he will pursue truth, and only what is good for USA and the world.

And let us not forget that Bishop Jakes is baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and that is the way he baptizes (I have seen and heard him baptize) and is filled with the Holy Ghost and speaks in tongues.

God bless Bro Jakes.

How did that get on the
teleprompter? The comment on the ressurection?

I was blessed to see that TIME magazine put him on the cover a few years ago as America's favourite preacher, and HE IS ONENESS! It saddened me that so many oneness people tried to find as many flaws int he guy as they could. Talk about shooting your own foot. Think of that in light of Paul saying that some preach Christ so Paul's chains might increase, but Paul rejoiced that Christ was still being preached by such people anyway!

This is from pages 216-217 of “The Life and Ministry of Billy and Shirley Cole” copyright 2007. After telling the story of his life, he uses about 7 pages to list people he considers his heroes. In a section called My Heroes, he lists 19 men and women as “heroes.” He says, “I have had several heroes in my lifetime that deeply impacted me and greatly influenced my ministry.”

One of his heroes is T.D. Jakes. This is what he writes about him:
Brother T.D. Jakes was a plumber and a preacher while he was in our fellowship in Charleston, West Virginia. It is phenomenal how he has become so influential today, so quickly. To the best of my knowledge, he has not compromised the message of the Oneness of God, water baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. We are proud that his children attended our church school, and that he and his wife were married in our church building. And we’re proud of the fact that his first three conferences were held in our church building. Some call him a compromiser, but in my opinion he is just full of wisdom regarding how to speak to people.

It is my understanding that Muslims believe that Isa/Jesus did not die on the cross and that He was taken to Heaven from where He will return and rule some day. I can't give you chapter and verse for this but this is what I have heard over the years.

I don't know just what all President Obama said about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Perhaps he was careful enough in his words that what he said would fit within the Muslim teaching about Isa/Jesus.

There are liberal "Christians" who believe the resurrection of Jesus is not a literal bodily resurrection but that He is alive today in His teachings and in His influence and that He is with us today just like grandma is with us in our thoughts and memories. Perhaps what the POTUS said about Jesus will fit within that paradigm.

I'm not condemning President Obama for what he did and I can't see his heart so I don't know his motives. Maybe it is a campaign ploy.

Romans 10:9-13 says:
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Maybe Barack Obama believes in his heart that Jesus was raised from the dead.
Maybe he has called on the name of Jesus for salvation.
Maybe he is confessing Jesus as Lord.

I disagree with Obama's politics and leadership. I don't quite frankly know what to make of the birther stuff. However, I don't care for the cynacism aimed at him personally.

People are cynical because he campaigned on "transparency" and has been very much the opposite.
