Hi! I'm Desi. I am an Army Wife currently living in KS, but I'm a Texas girl through and through. I've grown up in non-denominational churches, but more and more (especially since having children) I'm feeling pulled towards Apostolic. I've been invited to a local Apostolic church several times (the latest just yesterday) and I'm feeling led to go, at least to check it out. I may have a lot of questions for y'all, but I promise I really do want to learn! There are so many different things via Google, and some of them are quite scary LOL. I want to make sure this is the place for myself, and my family.

I can't wait to get to know y'all!!

Welcome, Desi! Texans are especially welcome here. LOL
Take it easy, Kansas has some ultra conservatives....that you have to watch out for.

Welcome to the Group.
You'll discover that the term "Apostolic" covers a pretty broad bunch of folks with quite a diversity of doctrine.

:welcome2

Grew up in the Victoria area, lived for a while around Austin. I actually just drove through DFW on Saturday night. :D
I don't mind conservative, LOL. My mom said that while the teachings are of the Spirit, but the traditions are of men. (In general, not about Kansas. LOL)

Trust me, whatever you find in Kansas is most likely NOT NOT NOT typical of all Apostolic churches

I grew up in Kansas. There were some problems that I do not miss, but I always appreciated the strong stands of the men in that district. Some of them are now gone, but I look forward to seeing them again in Heaven.

By the way, Desi, where in Kansas are you?

Welcome, Desi! You passed through my neck of the woods over the weekend. You ever come back through for the weekend and would consider visiting a church, we've got a pretty broad spectrum here; some are UC while others are more tolerant. Still, a rich presence of God can be felt either way, at least for those I've visited or been a part of.

Hey, Prax, "NOT NOT NOT typical of all Apostolic churches." I take it that the KS district is UC? I'm asking since the only districts I'm somewhat familiar with is both of TX, LA, and CA...

Oh, well here's a delayed wave LOL. We usually DO travel on the weekends, we go back to TX several times a year. As long as it fits into our travel time, I'd love to stop! :)

Well, as I would probably be labeled as a UC those are the only churches that I could discuss. If you are in the Junction City area, I have heard that the church pastored by Bro. Edwin Young is excellent. It used to be pastored by Bro. L.E. Westburg, who was a very great man of God.
