Real men could care less about color and wear whatever, unless it's a rainbow-colored garment.
If that's the case, they're either 1) hippie-influenced, 2) stuck in the 80s, or 3) openly support homosexuality...

And, of course, me...
I have a pastel-pink, long-sleeved button-up shirt that looks good untucked with solid black pants and some Aldo's... :D

Well, I probably have more Hawaiian shirts than most guys here combined. I'm not "hippie-influenced" nor do I opening support homosexuality, but I do like Tom Selleck, so I guess that makes me stuck in the 80's. Safety Dance anyone?

FWIW, my dad had a pink dress shirt in the mid '50's; he wore it to church with a suit and tie, while sporting a mustache.
He wasn't a fashion conscious guy by any means. My mother must have purchased the shirt......which would indicate it was being sold :heeheehee.
As a child I didn't give it a second thought___________until the uproar in the late '60's and early '70's requiring men to wear white shirts only:smack

I only ever heard of "only wearing white shirts to church" doctrine in the Mennonite church. Never heard or saw that among OPs but I heard others tell of this among ultracon independent churches.

My last pastor would not allow anyone to preach unless he had a white shirt.

I know missionaries that preach that....white shirts....black (dark) suits...I really feel sorry for people like that....While it is nice to look nice GOD IS NOT concerned with what color you wear...

I once worked with a pastor who had a real problem with men wearing pink. I would kid with him sometimes such as bringing a glass of water to the platform that was pink. He'd say "Take that back and go get another cup". All before service mind you... I wouldn't disrespect the service with playing around like that.
The church owned a house beside the church property and he and his family were going to move into the house. They painted it... pink... in my opinion.
I asked him... Brother... are you going to move into that pink house? He replied... "Mauve... that's mauve. Not pink" LOL...

I spent a number of years in ultracon independent ranks and this was certainly the case. You didn't dare wear anything other than white if you were going to be on the platform.

I would imagine that there are probably more who preach against wearing red than preach that you must wear white.
Man, I keep hearing about these churches but have yet to actually run into one. Do they really exist or should I go check out snopes? I could have soooo much fun at one.......

Yeah... it might not be as much fun as one might think. :) One of these churches also preached against going bowling. One couple in the family went bowling and the pastor found out. The couple was brought before the whole church and rebuked in front of everyone for their "sin".
I tell ya... been there... done that... and happy to say it is in my past.

Your right in that it isn't any fun for those who are trapped in such a situation and feel their salvation is contingent upon the whim of a tyrant but for those who are not so bound, it is a whole nudder story. :) And no, I wouldn't really seek out such a place as tempting as it is, and the last time we were in that situation we walked out that morning and never returned. No harm done, except to the rest of the congregation who didn't feel the liberty to leave.

How about an opinion from another female!
To me, REAL men know and serve GOD. They love their wife and children. They provide for their family, both spiritually and materially.They have a daily walk with GOD. They have peace with God and man. They obey the laws of the land.
My late father worked on a public job all day, came home, spent an hour or so in their bedroom, getting rid of the "trash" from the day, appearing with red rimmed eyes and tear stained face. After supper, we children were called into the den to get our "spiritual" training. Family alter was a very important time for our family. My REAL MAN hero was my late Daddy! I chose my spouse because the first time I met him, he reminded me of my Dad!
To me, it's more about the LIVING than what color clothes a MAN wears!:thumbsup

Falla, your father sounds like he was a very spiritual man. I must confess - I certainly don't spend that much time and devotion in prayer.

While I see the value in it now, I have to admit that growing up as a teen we attended SO many church services and agonizing hour after hour of song services and alter calls that to spend any MORE time doing "church" stuff at home (when you weren't made too!) just seemed ludicrous.
That, and I am not one to show my feelings to people face to face, so if the rest of family did anything like this I was busy hiding in my room learning to program my computer in BASIC, which I have to admit has been paying off for me even 30 years later!

ha!
dude it works like this:
Blue= color
teal= bird
Tan=color
eggshell = trash
brown=color
brick= building material
purple =color
burgundy= drink that will get you drunk
pink=color
salmon = a stinking fish that while good to eat is NOT good to wear.

Probably should not show my Engagement pictures then. Black suit, pink shirt, pink tie. It actually looked pretty snappy.
Yeah, but real men can wear any color they want, just went they start adding frillies is when I get concerned.
While I don't wear pink personally, each to their own I have friends that do(generally pink tie or shirt) I do have a question. Not implying we have to do the same nowadays, but hasn't it been said that in the "bible days" one if the primary ways, if not THE primary way to tell gender differences in clothing, was by the color?
Anybody studied that out to be true?
