I don't mean to lead anyone astray, but if you are firm in your faith and are interested in Kabbalah to expand your horizons, there is a free online Kabbalah course. Classes started september 7th but if you register now, you can download the first four lectures and all subsequent lectures in video or mp3. Student textbook is also free. I've only watched the intro course, kind of new agey, but interesting. Only 1 day left to register. Sorry for the late notice, but I just found out yesterday. Let me know if you join. I would like to discuss. there is also a forum to ask instructors questions. If you are not interested in the class there is a free video course also available on the website.

yes, it's jewish mysticism, but I find parallels with the nt. for example they teach attaining a higher level of reality and I think of receiving the holy ghost. they don't teach nt or heaven and hell.

Yeah... I'll definitely pass.
As a matter of fact... even though this notice was given at a late date I am thankful that it was given in time for me to purposely fail/refuse to register.
I feel much better now.

The Kabbalah is a series of "anceint" esoteric writtings supposedly by Jews. They contain numerology as well as other things.
One important writting was believed to be very ancient but was known to have been penned (he said discovered) by a Spanish "Jew"...I always thought this was dubious since during that period of time there were a lot of forced conversions of Jews. This "writting", Trinitarians claim, speaks of God as a Trinity. How ironic
Anyways, the religion "Kabbalaism" is not Judaism. It is a New Age religion

Actually a more interesting study is how Greek philosophy affected/interacted with Christian theory through the ages, i.e, the effects of Plato, Plotinus, and Aristotle on Augustine and Aquinas and others.
Christian Mysticism, and Scholaticism were the products of the ancient philosophers.

... sorry. That previous post might be understood as offensive to some who are sincerely interested in searching out the historical treasures found in medieval writings.

Kabbalah has its roots in the occult and is considered the "dark side" of Judaism......something IMO that no Christian should be involved in.

Kabbalah is flat-out demonic. I checked some details out some time ago. It is satanic to the core. Seriously. If you ever saw the goat headed devilish looking symbol of a being that has a five pointed star behind his head with the two star points pointing upwards, having multiple breasts, that is a Kabbalistic symbol of one of God's "emanations".
Kabbalah also believes God is partly female, and they use the term SHEKINAH to denote the femininity of God. They teach God has TEN or NINE "emanations", and they use the TREE OF LIFE symbol with orbs or circles connected by lines to denote each emanation. So they actually teach God is 9 or 10 beings, not sure which.
Their UNholy book is called the ZOHAR. I have rarely seen anything so demonically inspired as Kabbalah. Check out the wickedness of it by doing a google search.

Kabbalah seemed to arise while Israel was bound in Babylon, and they took flatly occultic practices and mingled them with Judaism. Some actually believe this will be the last day attack by the devil against the church -- from Kabbalah.

As I said, the Zohar was "discovered" by a Spaniard in Spain in the middle ages. His wife confessed that he made it up

Even Judaism now is not what Moses taught. The Orthodox Jews are your Biblical Pharisees teaching Oral law, rather then Mosaic Law.
If I recall my History correct, most Jews either became Christians or Pharisees; the rest were wiped out.

It's wicked, for sure. I'd recommend no one take the course, unless one wants to invite the enemy to one's life. Do a google search for IMAGES of kabbalah

aren't you teaching people to be ignorant? I think adults can decide for thmselves. i am not defending kabbalah, it may well be satanic, but that is no reason not to be aware of it. just like we could study preterism, jehova witness or mormons. from what i understand, this course doesn't have any occult magic. many have used the zohar to promote there own brand of kabbalah. this school has no occult in it as far as i know. they may believe in transmigration of the soul, which i don't fully understand their view. ignorance is for losers. i would rather learn and reject than remain ignorant. my first post said "if you are firm in your faith".

Firm in faith or not, when we need to be aware of things it does not mean to take a course on witchcraft, for example, so we know about it. That is opening ourselves for for the enemy to get an inroad into our lives. Would you go to a satanist and take a course on satanism to be aware of satanism? Same thing. Anything to do with Kabbalah is occultic becuase Kabbalah in and of itself is occultic. There is no such thing as studying Kabbalah and not studying the occult. Curiosity killed the cat, you know.
The way to become familiar with it is not to take a course from their teachers, but to study it out from what other believers have researched, and stay safe. You were warned. Seriously.
A person can study Mormonism without going to their classes. A man once took his son and toured the Salt Lake City temple, and his son fell down and went into convulsions at one part of the tour. The tour guide said that was common at that part of the tour. The father had to cast a devil out of his son. He learned a lesson that day. Do not put yourself willingly into the enemy's hands and harm's way.
Studying Kabbalah is a far cry from studying prophetic teachings or similar.
Jer 10:2 KJV Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
