How many of you fathers have family alter or a period of time for Bible reading with your family? Just as children depend on someone to feed them natural food, etc., children need someone to "feed them the Word of God until they are able to "feed" themselves.

This is not to be critical of anyone. But why wait for the church to "feed" your children. You are responsible for their care since you are the reason they are in this world.

Sometimes it falls on the mothers to do what is needed. Or grandparents when the home is broken. If the father doesn't do it, then it falls on someone else. BUT SOMEONE NEEDS TO SHOW THEM the way! GOD WILL help you if you have desire and make forth the effort to "train them up" in the way they SHOULD go. Then when you have done all you can do, then GOD can do what you could never do! SAVE them!:thumbsup

Yes, at least three or four nights a week I sit down with my children and read a children's bible to them and also teach with another children's book. I would like to expand it more to a little more prayer time and maybe a song or two.

Deltaguitar,
Good for you! We would sing standing up and if we didn't sing with the others, Dad would have us sing by ourselves. If we laughed at the one who had to sing solo, then we had to sing solo also. One way or another, we learned obedience and discipline! Didn't hurt us at all. LOL!
