View Full Version : Middle ear

I feel pressure in my middle ear. Sometimes I lose hearing, and a day or two later my hearing returns upon removal of what I thought was ear wax, but has the texture of cooked meat. The substance usually has traces of blood. Most days it feels like there is drainage, but not a whole lot. Anyway, this has been going on for almost a yr. I went deaf on Thanksgiving, only to remove an unusual amount of matter.

ANY IDEAS OF WHAT THIS COULD BE?

I think yOu nailed it. Ear infection. I would see a doc to make sure there is nothing more serious. It's been going on for too long.

I started antibiotics today.

The internet is scary sometimes. In the future I am not going to google my symptoms.

Maybe you have those giant ear scorpions (the kind seen in Star Trek II that Khan put in Chekov) living in your ears.

why would you let it go on that long? you do realize ear infections can eventually result in a loss of hearing????

If you ever need a really poor man's treatment in the future, put garlic oil in your ear. Lots of ways you can make it, you can heat the olive oil and crushed garlic clove over very low heat for a few minutes and then let it set for awhile, or you can just add the crushed clove of garlic to the olive oil and let it set overnight.

I've used it for me and my children for years and years and it's never failed us yet.

GOOD GRIEF, HOUSTON--you should have been to the doctor a LONG time ago. :blink :smack Make an appointment with an ear, nose and throat doctor right away!

I've had fluid in my left ear (middle ear) for about 3 weeks now. I'm going to the doctor this week to see what they can do about it. Sometimes they can't do much to get rid of fluid, but they can at least treat you for an infection so nothing terrible happens.

What is it with single men never making doctor's appointments? This is why men need wives. :rolleyes2

SEE the Health Insurance thread. Think I'll pass on the wife.

Actually, for something like an ear infection a good place to go is a CVS minute clinic (assuming you have one within an hours drive). They charge an even 50 bucks and can write any antibiotic prescription you may need.

Right. A man has many needs and team of wives can help make things better.

Maybe so. I have been telling my wife I feel the need to get a Harley... Fri, while I was at work she texted me to say another two friends of ours were in a serious motorcycle accident. That makes about a dozen of our friends hurt and killed on bikes inthe last few years.

Proverbs 18:22
Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Houston, if you don't believe the Word of God and want to obtain favour of the Lord, have at it. HE is also the same GOD who made your middle ear!

That's a little harsh houston.

Falla, to stick up for hou a bit, I have had ear infections my whole life and many surgeries on both. My hearing is down about 80% in my left ear and 50% of what it should be in my right. I suspect it will be much much worse in 10 years, so I know how aggravating ear problems are.

Houston, I meant no offence. However I will honor your request and not respond to your posts.
I was just responding to your "Think I'll pass on the wife". It was half TIC!
I am sorry about your ear problem. May GOD touch your middle ear, in Jesus Name!

I placed someone on ignore, but it did me no good. Their posts still show up, but as a place holder, and I could not stand not knowing what they said, so they came right off ignore the same day.
