When looking for a church to attend which of these options do you feel is vital?
you can select more then one.
Just wondering if people feel it matters if the church they attend teaches the Oneness of God, Baptism in Jesus name, or whatever else you may feel is important

Could you show me in the Bible the doctrine of "outward holiness". I just thought I would beat the rest of you to it! LOL
Here is a thought - The doctrine of Outward Holiness is a fallacy. There is no such thing. If a Muslim woman came in wearing a Burqa - would she be more holy than those that showed more skin?

Here is my "ideal" in a Church.
1. Oneness Of God
2. Acts 2:38 New Birth
3. Gifts in operation/Laying on of hands/Head covering
4. Post trib rapture.
5. Resurrection at the last day. No immortal soul.
6. Eternal Judgment. Annihilation of the wicked.
7. 1000 year reign.
8. Perfection and Holiness taught and crowned with love.
If anyone knows where this Church is let me know. For now I listen to the streaming audio of Carlisle Christian Fellowship Carlisle Pa. on Sunday mornings. This Church teaches the same foundation doctrine as the apostles imo. I differ with them on the meaning of the headcovering they take the UPC position.
On Friday and Saturday nights I watch IHOP a Trinitarian Charismatic Church that teaches post trib and sermon on the mount style holiness and has very nice worship. I also watch the Prayer Room at least once a day as it is streamed also. This Church is being influenced by David Pawson an old Minister who believe Acts 2:38 is the true plan of salvation. The Pastor hasnt got it yet but I believe several IHOP teachers see it. They have transitioned into baptism in Jesus name apparently but without the Oneness revelation.
There is no local Church here in Somerset Ky we are aware of that offers anything close to what I need in a Church.
You left off coffee and donuts before or during Sunday services!

the bar church you showed me did look fun
After what it took to get the family to church this morning, I don't care what kind or how much false doctrine they preach, just as long as they have an afternoon get together instead of a 10:00am, count me in!

A pastor and church members who show the fruit of the spirit is most important to me.

Personally it would be hard for me to attend a church that did not baptize in Jesus' name. I don't think the others are lost, but I would want to go to a church that believed it like I do.
Also, there would have to be a move of the Spirit, and an openess to all gifts of the Spirit.

The other thing that I voted for is that the church I look for needs to have an atmosphere open enough where sinner and saint can confess their sin, faults and failures and get helped, really helped.
Healing for the wounded and broken.
Accountability for the secret sin struggler.
Enough real Christianity where the secret sin struggler can feel safe to come out of the shadows, turn the light on, and overcome, with the help of their brothers and sisters.
Furthermore, the church needs to emphasize the development of personal, Biblical faith-- a faith that produces works and fruit.

First thing I'd look for is someplace where a building isn't called a church with professional pastors who are an integral part of the building system and and aren't glorified or monetarily supported. That would weed out 99% of the folks out there doing the pastoring and preaching thing, in my opinion.
After that, just meeting with a group of people who's relationship with God and each other is built on love. A group of inclusionists instead of exclusionists. Not a group of building supporting, religious system supporting folks in other words.

I agree with Sherri strongly about the move of the Spirit.
I have moved several times due to job situations and this is what I look for, in addition to my agreement with their doctrine.
I believe I would feel more at home in Eddie and Sherri's church, then many churches that have their "apostolic identity" correct, but no move of the Spirit.

1) High view of scripture and bible teaching is central.
2) Transparent about beliefs. I have had enough of churches dancing about what they really believe and trying to please certain groups within the church.
3) Reformed (but not old time calvinism, more like the younger breed of calvinism.)
4) Trinitarian
5) No altar calls.
5) Openminded to the gifts of the spirit.
I clicked some of the options but honestly I have no clue. Nor do I intend to need a clue.
I have always known where God wanted me to be and I have done my best to be there.

Exactly and, IMO, the only viable option/choice. :thumbsup

LOL. I demanded that the church refer to me by my surname, and NOT to call me brother.
