Well, we had the funeral for my Sister In Law this afternoon, after doing visitation last night and earlier today. The funeral went really well and the speakers all did a good job. (UPC and former UPC, in case that matters to anyone).
My cousin's funeral will be this Thursday - they found out that she had a massive heart attack. I dread going to that one too, because my aunt has already lost her husband and now this.
BUT........Today, as my dad was coming into the funeral home for my SIL, he fell and they had to call an ambulance to take him to the ER. He was bleeding everywhere - his hands and face were really cut up. Big black eye. I was so torn, feeling like I needed to be at the funeral (which was starting in just a few minutes) and feeling like I needed to go to the ER with my dad. He is 82.
What a crazy day. Anytime I stop to think about it, I just start crying again. But I know that God gives extra grace when we need it. Two ladies from our church just called and said they were getting ready to bring over some food. People are so sweet to do that. They also had a big dinner for us at noon today at our church in Savannah. I love the family of God!

When I see my friends and loved ones going through moments like these, there aren't words good enough to make anyone feel good.

However, the prayers of the righteous availeth much and do more good than any Hallmark card.

Praying for you and yor family.

Thanks for the prayers. Eddie is really tired today, and we're in the middle of a huge month of celebration for our tenth anniversary. So we have to go in there this morning and put a big smile on. That's just part of pastoring though.

I feel like the boy in that little kid's book -
