sigh...

This World Series thing is driving me crazy. Hours of facebook statuses on sports, sports & more sports.

I just think this world would be a lot better off without sports. I don't think sports is a sin but I think it can become one when people get so obsessed with it. I think I can go ahead and use that word I seldom use here... I really do hate sports.

Of course I realize that this is nothing more than my own feelings and they are totally based upon my feeling toward sports. But I sure wouldn't miss it for one second if it were a thing of the past.

That´s hilarious, D4T. At least he's not in your way, I guess :D I too fail to understand the obsession with sports. I asked a guy the other night, "Do you actually think any of this sports stuff matters at all?" lol

That's my question in all of it.

I just can't understand why it all matter so much. It's just a waste of perfectly good time & energy in my opinion.

Guys, for what it's worth, this thread isnt about sports. we can have that conversation if you want but this thread is about airing grievances with a pastor in a public forum.

That is something I am extreamly uncomfortable with. I wont do it.

Love you guys but this simply is not something I want to be involved in.

There.

I removed any mention of that particular area where sports affects me the most.

Ive won my fantasy baseball league two years in a row. I love Baseball.

Im not sure how folks survive the year without sports. Reality TV watchers I guess. LOL.

I have never been a big sports fan, myself. I'll watch it on occasion, specifically baseball (like the WS) and golf. Other than that, I'll pass on the hype and over-zealous nonsense I observe in other sports.

In the meantime, who's singing on TBN or at who's church? Or, what's a good book to read? :)

I could live all my life without sports.

I just have zero interest whatsoever.

Yeah... that's us too. We stay so busy singing here or there that I wouldn't have time if I wanted to.

That works out nice... because I don't want to. :)

All I know is that the Pack is the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL!

His answer was, "It's the only thing I have in common with my dad, so that's what we talk about."

I can understand that. Except my dad doesn't like sports either, so we have NOTHING in common ;)

While as far as I recall, I've watche less than 60 seconds of any sports on a tv this year(I don't keep up) before the world series, I am enjoying keeping up with and going to watch the ws game with my family (especially since I got a great price in a great spot.) Headed there in a few minutes matter of fact.

My kids play in different sports too, and I enjoy watching them play.

That's a sad state to be in. My dad is into sports. Not crazy into them but definintely a big fan... mostly of football.

I am thankful that my dad and I have much in common outside of sports. I sometimes am reminded of the blessed relationship I have with my parents.

I follow a little of football and baseball so that I have a bit in common with my Dad. We enjoy the same music and hold the same standards, and enjoy many of the same type of things. However, I do not listen to sports in my apartment. I said that when I moved out I would not, and I have not.

My favorite sport to listen to is horse racing when I can find it. The whole event is all of 30 seconds long at most. Then it is over, the winner declared, and I can move on to other things I want to listen to.

Then do you tear up all your losing tickets and throw them to the wind?

I have never been to a horse race, but I did hear one on the radio once, where I found it I do not know, but it was nice, short, and enjoyable. I listened, heard the race listened to some of the discussion after the fact, and then went on to other things.

I like snail races. You can go do a few chores, watch a movie, come back and they've barely moved.

It's pretty exciting.

I have a question. Do you ever go to any frog racing? I have heard that it is filled with graphic violence, and that the racers are very fortunate if they manage to survive. It think that I have only been to one in my life. It is a intense sport.

can't help it, every time i see the title of your thread this Led Z song starts playing in my head

Leaves are falling all around,
It's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay.

But now it's time for me to go,
The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain,
And with it pain,
And it's headed my way.
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired,

I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through
(And we mean to go on and on and on and on)

We are the champions my friend
And we'll keep on fightin' till the end
We are the champions, We are the champions
No time for losers 'cause we are the champions

Of the world

I've never been to a frog race and hope to never go. I've heard the same stories how violent those are. Akin to cat juggling IMO.

You may have a point, although I would say that cat juggling is a more hazardous exercise. After all, if you do not get them right, you may need more help that a surgeon would be able to provide. You certainly could not do that with a number of the cats that were in the audience.

I'm not a sports fan....at all.....But I live in a state that is totally nuts for college football.

And, when in Rome etc and having lived in this state 18 years........I have one wall in my office/sewing room covered with Husker posters, clock, hat, knick knack shelf holding Husker bears, etc:happydance

What can I say?

I never watch the games, but I do want us to win!:thumbsup
