Hi! I am excited to be here, and hope that I will be a blessing in a small way-as I am hoping to learn much from you guys!

I am not necessarily Apostolic, but very open to relationship with Apostolics. I will explain why later, but my background is Assemblies of God. I am currently ordained with an independent Pentecostal organization that has hosted both Trinity preachers and Apostolic ministries at their camp meetings.

I AM NOT HERE, BY ANY MEANS, TO TRY TO PUSH ANY DOCTRINE BUT TO FELLOWSHIP AROUND THE MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT, so please know that I come with NO AGENDA (In fact, if I, by lack of history in your religious culture, ever post anything that might be considered offensive-by accident-please understand that is NOT my heart and please take the time to pm me to explain how what I wrote could be considered offensive. It would have been by accident. I understand I am a guest in your forum.).

Here is where I am in my spiritual walk, and why I am here-up front.

I am a minister-only age 33, but I grew up in a church that had wonderful moves of the Spirit. I remember dancing, lots of tongues, prophecy, joy...It was a small church, but there was love and an openness to God's work in our midst. i grew up in camp meetings and revivals. For years I have not see this, aside from visiting special meetings here and there. BUT...I tasted enough, as a child, to know the power is real. I have also been used SOME in prophecy, Word of Knowledge and healing (But this has been more of a trickle than a flowing River from within.).

After sitting in meetings with Freddy Clark, and more recently, a minister who was mentored for several years by Chester Arthur Hensley (I had an experience in this particular meeting, last week, where God gave me some very specific things to do, and as a result, received a powerful, powerful impartation that lifted me off my feet literally threw me to the ground. The result is a fresh desire to walk in holiness and an area of sin in my life was broken! PTL! I do NOT know who Hensley is aside from this site-a thread I found.)), I can see that there is a genuine flow of the Spirit that I have experienced in part, read a lot about, but have not stepped into. I know the doctrine between us is different (though I have been baptized in the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues daily). I had a wonderful talk with Bro. Buford (who I do not know) from the UPC today, and he had such a gentle, fatherly way about him, and he shared some names with me to research their writings and messages.

So, long story short, I am not Apostolic per se, but I am Spirit-filled and desire a moving of the Spirit that I have seen in your ranks-through the years. I am here to learn how to flow better in that flow.

I hope my hunger shows and I will at least be accepted here-at least at arm's length. I believe I can learn-and that is my only goal here. No agendas to change you guys, but to grow myself.

By the way, I preach Jesus so strongly, I have been "accused (I use that word with a smile.)" of being Oneness (Is this a proper word to use?), so I might not be so distant. LOL!
Also, I baptize in the name of the "Father, Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit." Not sure how this would line up with your teaching, but curious. Blessings all!
If I am able to "stick around," you'll get used to my style of humor. :)

Thanks. My goal is to learn, and I am enjoying reading the threads. I am quickly learning that many Apostolic aren't against those who are not. I am seeing some harsh comments, but a lot of grace. :)
I posted several posts looking for follow-up material to areas I am searching for. One is info. on Chester Arthur Hensley-who I know nothign about.
And used materials by men like T.W. Barns and A.W. Sassman (men in the movement who flowed in God's ministry.). These are two separate posts that I posted just now.

Welcome, I hope that you will forgive us if sometimes emotions get ahead of cool logic. It is good to have you, and I hope that you stay around for a while. ;)

Thanks, Jay. In reading posts, I am seeing that I had learned a lot wrong about what is believed by Apostolic. Still not real clear on what is taught, but having fun getting my "toes wet."
I didn't know T.D. Jakes was Apostolic. Are there other well known speakers who are?

Yes, there are others. And Apostolic is a broad term.

What is the preferred term? I am told that "oneness" is considered "labeling" by some, but I see Apostolic in the title of the forum (which is why I use it, primarily).

Apostolic used to be, and in some places still is, synonomous to Pentecostal. By and large when a person refers to themselves as Apostolic here in the U.S., you will be dealing with someone who is 'Oneness', which is also an acceptable term.

Only been on here a week now and learning how many branches of this faith there is. I had no idea there were so many groups, beliefs, etc...

I really thought we just have the Bible- saddened to see how bitter people are about the smallest of things, that mean nothing in the grand scheme. Do right, by God, by each other, introduce the lost to Jesus and get thru this life to be with Him in the next. Is there going to be an Apostolic or a Baptist section in Heaven? A rich or a poor? Or is it just going to be the Saved section? Separating just feeds egos, people like others to know they are better than they are. Which in Gods eyes, makes them least, right?

I think all these divisions could end if all Christians and Apostolics just believed exactly like I do.
Come on everyone get on the boat and just say that I am 100% correct in all my doctrines and all divisions will end.

Yes. a physical ressurection occured when Christ raised from the dead. However, Paul taught that a ressurection just like Christ's will occur when Christ comes back (ref 1 Cor 15 and 1 Thess 4)

How could there have been a physical ressurection in 70AD? That means that Christ came back for only a portion of his church. No, Christ is coming back for all the members of his church at one time.

Good thinking. The issue is Christ NEVER took some away in 70AD. That would imply that some part of the church who die experience a physical ressurection and then the other part who die will not experience a physical ressurection. There is no scripture for that.
