This is a great thread BB, and I hope it stretches us all to think about what we are doing for the kingdom... today.
Another lady and I got together today and spent several hours in prayer. I can't get out much, live in the boonies here, but I CAN pray and have been praying for many here on AFF too.

Today I am considering how one feeds their immediate neighbors, the people we interact with every day. There is a fine line between between bringing them brownies (inappropriately)(codependently fluffing their pillow, so to speak) and just being receptive to their needs, there in that quiet place. I've found you can direct this at others for just a moment when you are first reunited, and you are able to quickly discern what they may need--regardless of what they may be asking or saying.

buddhism encourages mindfullness
The Buddha:
Attention leads to immortality. Carelessness leads to death. Those who pay attention will not die, while the careless are as good as dead already.
Foolish, ignorant people indulge in careless lives, whereas a clever man guards his attention as his most precious possession.
but so does the bible:
Matthew 6
Do Not Be Anxious
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[g] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I AM encouraging people to get off their knees, and grab a hoe lol. Oh, and volunteering at a food bank.
One day the Lord said to me
do you see all those people busy everyday all day long.
Going here and going there .
And doing this and doing that.
I said yes Lord I do.
He then said to me
All that that they do
they do on their own.
I did not tell them to do any of it.
If the Lord allowed anyone to get close to me enough to give me their opinions from time to time when they could ease it in without seeming to be minding my business
they would say to me
You know I never ever see you do much of anything.
I say to them with a great big smile
If the Lord did not tell me to do it.
I am not going to be doing it.
So whatever you see me doing
You know the Lord told me to be doing it.
If you want to always be in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.
Be where the Lord put you
doing what the Lord put you to doing
exactly as the Lord
instructed you to be doing.
There sure are a whole lot of folks on the Lord's earth doing something other than he told them to do or doing something other than he did not tell them to do.

Sure, but we can only judge this for ourselves? One cannot hope to judge rightly for someone else here. When you see someone else's sin (which God does not see) you are lost, imo.
Today I am not kidding myself, that I am somehow superior to anyone, and yet not also being a judge. The moment you find something lacking in another (and there will always be something) you can even feel the flames, lol, that you suppose are for the one who is "lacking," which ends up being self.

Amen. Today I am wondering about your idea of the Scriptural "serpent seed," as I have only ever heard this through Arnold Murray. Are there alt serpent seed doctrines, that maybe condemn a certain group or something? How do you explain "serpent seed" if it is not "offspring of satan?" What is a "Kenite?"
Please comment on the Arnold Murray thread, if you have some wisdom here, ty.

Sadly, Islam is not a peaceful religion unless it is in a very tiny minority. I fear that our friend in the mask may just be wicked. Evil need not posess a man for a man to be exceedingly wicked. I wish that I could say otherwise.

Well, I'm only about 15 pages in, and it is just the first 5 books of the Bible reinterpreted or whatever. Beautiful, thought provoking language, even translated. I started reading it to see if I can find anything to disagree with, but I doubt I will. So, I'm being extra cynical with it, which right now feels like nothing so much as...scolding a three year old for bringing you an ice cream cone with a big grin, for some odd reason.

Well, it is written to a different mind. Comes across as more graceful, to me so far, a lot of "Most Merciful, Oft Returning," a common refrain, with somewhat different symbology, yet still similar. Hasn't disagreed with the Bible in any respect that I can find yet, except reads more spiritually than the Bible, at least at the beginning, whereas the Bible to me has always been very literal, Adam did this, Cain did that, build it this high, etc. These names are all mentioned, and the contexts are similar, but the stories are inevitably less literal. So far.

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.
Bob, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloudnine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.
'And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said,
'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.

I'd like to recommend something you've heard before, that is having profound effects on me at the moment. I determined a while back to say "ty, God" 10 times a day, for whatever, those things that seemed to come unbidden.
The first day was...not good. 3 or 4 maybe, although I surely had many, many more serendipitous occurrences that day, as for some reason I am spoiled. Took a couple days to get up to 10. So then I shot for 25, which took another week or so.
Nothing ostentatious or anything; just a genuine "Thank you, Father," at whatever it was I happened to be appreciating at the moment. If for some reason, it seemed inappropriate to verbalize out loud right then, I usually said it louder; but prolly silent works too if yur a wimp. Hope not.
Anyway, the point is, when you get to 100, well, you sorta stop counting by then, but i8f you have 100 things to be thankful for in a day ( ha you have like a ,million) but when you find (100) things to be thankful for, things will just change for you in fundamental ways.
Oh, ya, the reason I posted; Thank you God, for hot water.

I personally dropped off our monthly donation check to Operation Serve (http://www.operationserve.org/)

I sent out an email to a distribution list inviting folks to a city wide prayer meeting that will be taking place this Friday morning.
I've prepared and printed out my notes for tonight's Bible Class at our local church. Since it's that time of the year, I will be teaching on The Early and The Latter Rain

can you define them? Ty
Nice! I never quite got the Apo/Pent take on early and latter rain,

the idea of the early and latter rain is based on the planting and harvest season in Israel. After the planting there was a time of early or former rain In the land where the Bible was written, the early rain or former rain fell in October to December to assist in seed germination and then the latter rain from March to May just before harvest (harvest is some times considered typical of the end of the age per Matthew 13:39) to provide ample moisture for crops to be rich and full.
Some see in this a picture of the Spirit poured out on the early church for the first century or so, followed by a time of just sporadic rain here and there, until the Holy Spirit was poured out in these past couple centuries again.
I have posted some stuff from my notes, plus a picture, plus some other history under The Early and Latter Rain if anyone cares to read some of it.
