Awwww, I'm jealous!! My brother has a Whippet. We kept asking him, "Is that a Greyhound?" When he started getting really annoyed, we stopped. I think our mother made us stop teasing him. :toofunny
I will never have a dog for the rest of my married life. :sad

We're in the market for a dog, one that's hypoallergenic (becuase my 7 y/o is allergic to dogs in general) -- schnauzer, poodle, bichon frise. Whichever is the least expensive is what we'll probably go with...
Besides, what in the world does a whippet look like anyway?

Ahh, gotcha. Are they hypoallergenic? Probably too big for us if they are.

they are about knee high full grown and 24 to 28 pounds.
short hair and dont shed much.
as far as hypoallergenic, I really dont know. you would have to do google research or call a vet I suspect.
they are great house dogs just be sure to spend the time training them.

It's very pretty!!! They have pretty intense facial expressions in my decorating magazines (lol), but this photo makes them look what they are - friendly.

Nice to know! That's def within our height max. As for the house training, well, that's something we'd have to reconsider, unless we adopted one already housebroken...

oh, by training I mean more than just house breaking. I mean real training.
these dogs have a cat like indiffence so you have to really engage them. left to their own devises they can be rude.
but well trained they make awesome pets. The good news is, there are lots of option here in the area for training dogs. Petsmart has a great program.

Ferd,
That is where I took Roscoe. He was awesome. The training was so excellent. He died three days before his graduation! Just couldn't believe that. He was best in the class!

Awe Roscoe... Just for you PO
Ode to Roscoe
Shoes, plants and electric cords never found safety.
Roscoe ate everything, his hunger was too hasty.
Mr. Pressing didn't like ole Roscoe
He often said all dogs must go
But Roscoe loved Pressing
and Pressing loved Roscoe.
We will miss the ongoing saga
of Roscoe rambunctious romps
A tale as twisted as the Huallaga
and full of things he did chomp.
Good night dear friend
you shall be missed.
If dogs do go to heaven
don't let Mr. Pressing be a witness!

(I still think my suggestion about leaving him on the roof when you guys were getting out of Rita's path was funny.... )

I kind of remember that one. We were boarding up the house and making decisions, so I think in all the excitement I forgot what you said. I do remember he and I fought about leaving Roscoe. I told him he could go without me. "I'm staying if you make me leave my dog!" :heeheehee
A couple of Sunday's ago when Mr. Pressing was teaching, he confessed to the congregation that he had been jealous of my dog. LOL! He's like his mother anyway. Anyone that comes near me, he is going to be jealous. So annoying! :bigbaby
