Tulsa Shootings - 5 shot - all victims black

Deadly Friday night shootings in T-Town. Tulsa police are searching for a white man in a white truck. According to surviving witnesses, the gunman stopped them to ask directions, then shot them. 3 victims have died.

Local reports left out the race of the victims; CNN is reporting that all the victims were black.

It appears that these were 4 separate shootings. He didn't approach a group of people. He stopped in 4 different locations and shot 5 individuals.

We are more divided now than ever.
In the early 80's, my best friend was black.
I spent a lot of time at his house and neighborhood and never thought anything about it.
I also spent a lot of time on various basketball courts in the 80's and 90's, where I was the only "white", (even though I am multi-racial, I look white), and never had an issue.
It's not that way anymore.
And I am not sure where it turned.
I grew up in a multi-cultural environment and no one ever thought anything about race.
God help us to break down these walls.

Jake's father was shot a couple of years ago, allegedly by a black man (although the accused is in prison on entirely different charges) and Jake's fiancee also died in January. Apparently this was a catalyst to what happened on Friday. Definitely not an EXCUSE, though--people suffer terrible loss all the time. It doesn't mean they can go around shooting innocent people.

"Today is two years that my dad has been gone shot by a f****** n*****. it's hard not to go off. between that and sheran I'm gone in the head."

This one from Friday at 10:15 p.m.:

"I do believer it just mite be the time to call it quits I I hate to say it like that but I'm done if something does happen tonite be ready for another funeral later."

You would hope that a 32 year-old man would have the sense to help such a troubled teenager in a positive way and not such a negative way. Sad story all around.

This is a very shocking crime in our community, but in all fairness, Tulsa crime rate has been going up, up, up in recent years. It's the nature of the crime that makes it shocking. Tulsa is not a city I would want to live in [anymore]. I like having a big city close by, but I'm happy to live in the *metro area.*

I did not vote for him, but did have some hope that he would help with race relations, since he is half black and half white.
However, it is clear from his appointees and their actions, that they believe that past injustice against one race justifies injustices now against another race.
He had a chance to move the country along to a better place, but has instead moved us backwards.

While I would agree that race relations have not improved, there is simply no rational way to connect any dots in a murder spree like this.
