I attended the Bishop Don Johnson viewing last night in Memphis. It was like a mini-General Conference. I saw many preachers from all over. But one of the most influential and most powerful persons there and one of the best conversations I had was with Pianoman from right here on AFF!

Sorry I could not make the meeting and the meal Deacon. If you are OK with it, just send me 7 gift certificates to Red Lobster.
Thanks!

Hey Deacon Blues, it was great to see you! :yourock
Enjoyed our conversation. It's too bad that it takes a death for some of us to get together! There were so many people there that I hadn't seen in about 30 years or more!

One of these days I am going to meet the good deacon blues. About every three months I end up in the Memphis area on business so we need to get together one of those times!
Drink some coffee or eat some of that Memphis BBQ.

It is important to meet people you know here. I am meeting JT in the next day or two for a few brewskies.....

Sherri, it was indeed a privilege to reconnect with you and Eddie. I didn't start a thread for fear people might figure out who you are on here and your anonymity would be compromised...

Wow, I didn't know Memphis had any other delicacies! I should be back in the Memphis area probably mid to late June or early July and will get in touch with you when my plans are firmed up.

There's a great little place called Humdingers in Cordova that feeds you grilled vegetables like asparagus, zucchini, mushrooms... instead of fatty fries for a side dish. That is a delicacy compared to the choices I have here. :lol

Go north on Germantown Parkway (177) until you get to Cordova. There will be a little shopping center called either Germantown Plaza or Germantown Square. Look for Macon Road and turn right. There will be a large Malco Theater there and Humdinger's is close by. The grilled zucchini is really good. I also like the grilled asparagus but the stems get kind of tough. They sprinkle some kind of seasoning on it when they grill.
They have different kinds of fish sandwiches. I get to where I do not like meat much anymore and fish is my choice of protein right now. :D

I'm sure I will be up there sometime this summer again. My son is graduating from the University and is shadowing Optometrists in the Memphis area for requirements of admission to Optometry schools. He is interested in Vision Therapy and there is a Dr. Sumner just a few blocks from Humdingers. I usually go with him and whittle my time away at the Galleria or the other stores. :D
Let you know when the next time comes.
