Over the past 35 years I have managed to see every single one of the original Star Trek cast members in person. I remember when I met DeForest Kelly (Bones) around 1981 or 1982 thinking how incredibly skinny he was! Everybody else looked just like I thought they would. In the late 80's or early 90's also saw Riker & Troi from Star Trek The Next Generation in person together and he was very tall and she was very short. They said that when they had scenes close together talking to each other that for the was actually standing on a box so the great height difference wouldn't look funny onscreen.

To the point of this thread I saw George Takei in the late 80's or early 90's many years before he came out of the closet. He was very nice and quite the health nut. Actually invited the fans to come jogging with him the next morning after his appearance.
