Well, I'm crying it will cost us approx $2,000 to cut down a couple of pine trees from the drought. "Are they twice as tall as your house?" "Yes" Such has been my day. Arghhh!

I'm checking on it. Looks like most are pricing it the same. They are huge trees, but better than falling on the house during the next tropical storm. I never liked them anyway - pine cones all over the yard. I didn't have a use for them.

I could have found something else to do with that money though. :bigbaby

Yes, Cindy, we do. But they are way too tall. I'm not prepared for my husband to die at this time. LOL!

Funny story, (sorry MP, I'm hijacking your thread, but you're bored anyway),

I was buying some ice cream for my husband yesterday and this man in front of me said, "You must have seen us purchase ice cream and went back to get some."

I said, "No, I didn't see it. My husbands been working 7 days a week and I wanted to get him something special."

He said, "Well, nice to see our wives are looking out for us."

I said, "It's not really healthy, so we are probably just waiting around for the insurance money."

He thought I was serious. :toofunny

Ya, it's kind of slow at work for me too (not a bad thing). It is always fun to have ONE person like Bert hanging around. Of course this is the same attitude that many UC boards have where they like having ONE liberal around that they can gang up on and amen each other after "putting him in his place!". Bert was just too easy of a target. :)

Now I am worried because we have one tall precarious tree in our yard about twice as tall as our two story house. I think lightning struck it a few years ago and so part of it is gone. I will freak out if we have to spend $1,000 to get it cut down.

LOL! It costs less if they can leave the wood behind, but I don't think we want to do that. It's just too much to burn and we aren't guaranteed this rain will keep up by the time the tree is totally dried to burn. Plus, I don't want to fill our vacant lot, even though it's fenced in, with a load of wood you can't use for a BBQ. LOL!

If the trees are anywhere close to electrical lines, call your electric company and tell them that you are getting ready to cut your trees but are afraid they might take down power lines when it falls. Sometimes they will come and cut em down for ya... or at least the tops of the trees. then all u have to do is to cut it up and sell it for firewood. Or advertise it as free firewood..u cut and haul. Many times people with fireplaces will come and get it.

Not a good idea to put pine in a fireplace. It's sappy and pops. They aren't by any powerlines.

Speaking of tree removal, I removed this 100' Sycamore Thursday.

P.O., on the note of White pines, I am removing two 60' ers side by side in a few days, over the end of a house. ($1400 total), prices have many variables in tree care. Small city or large, removal difficulty, whats all is under or near the tree, bucket truck accessible, or has to be climbed and rigged, haul away accessiblilty, distance etc....some are easier than others. A few bids between reputable companies is wise.

I thought I read a post where Aquila was confessing to being Bert, but I don't have time to check for it.

You're not serious! That would be epically awesomely hilarious! But I don't think Aquila's sense of humor is that epically awesome. :toofunny

Lots of people post under different names.
That's nothing new.

Ya, I still think there is a possibility that he is an existing member. His posts were SO ignorant as to not be very plausible.

I some times post stuff tongue in cheek and in sarcasm and have been known to "troll" now and then, but I am not Bert.

You can have more than one user name. But if you are banned, and then rejoin using another user name, it will get you banned again.

Hmmm...what would be the purpose of this?

How can some people get more than one name here when my husband cannot even get on here because the message we got was that the domain of our IP address has been banned for some reason. He doesn't have any other email addresses and he has never been here before.

Trollers use different names.
They would post to themselves as well, just to get things rolling.

Not sure how I got on here. I must have used one of my junk email addy's. I tried to get him on through my junk email provider, but the message came back that this email was already in use. :doh

I did email an administrator about this, do not remember who...but never got a response.

Maybe that'd be because my main IP provider is banned from these forums?
