View Full Version : Shavuot, Pentecost, Whitsunday
According to the Jewish calendar, shavuot will be observed from sundown on Saturday May 26 until sundown on Sunday May 27, 2012.
Pentecost or Whitsunday for those who follow the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar will be Sunday May 27, 2012.
Does your church celebrate Shavuot/Pentecost/Whitsunday?
and if so, how?
Mom is going to be out of town, and possibly Dad as well, which will likely mean that we will be doing nothing for the day. I shall either be working or going to a neighboring church.

I received the Holy Ghost Baptism on Sunday May 20, 1956 at Bethel Tabernacle (UPC) in Racine, Wisconsin. That just happened to be Pentecost Sunday but I didn't know it at the time. Nothing was mentioned about that at church that day.
There are three of us elders who take turns teaching a Sunday morning Bible class and a Wednesday night Bible Study at our Church. The Pastor does the Sunday morning sermon. I am scheduled to teach the Sunday morning Bible class on May 27th and am planning to teach on Pentecost and the Holy Ghost Baptism. As far as I know there will be no other mention of that particular day at church.
