This is the thread to help correct the many misspellings and butcherings of the King's English found here on the forum.
One of the many errors I see is people spelling "lose" as "loose". I suppose its because "choose" is spelled the way it is.
So for the record: "lose" rhymes with "choose", "loose" rhymes with "goose".
Used in a sentence: "I will LOSE my temper if people CHOOSE to live as LOOSE as a GOOSE."
Feel free to address any other common mistakes found here on AFF. If we're going to be legalistic about something, let's be grammar legalists!

What really burns me are all the people here who keep mixing up night with knight.
"We will not go quietly into the knight!"

One that bugs me in real life is the idea/ideal.
As in "I have a great ideal!"...
Arghhhhhh

Ha ok, I consider this a personal problem,
since the meaning is still received,
but apostrophe's before esse's (s)
imply "ownership."
My mother's apron was a big hit with the other mothers.
The only exceptions are if/when articles of speech
(its, theirs, ours...and the commonest one,
which is escaping me at the moment) have possession,
no apostrophe is needed, and will be read as a contraction of "is."
It's considered perfect because of its beauty.

lol. I think maybe that was the most common one.
"it's" is always "it is."

I want to edit a lot of posts sometimes. But, I don't have the time. So I just try to edit my own. I do have typos from time to time, and even the dreaded grammar and apostrophe mistakes.

"Seen" and "Saw".
I "seen" that. No you didn't, you "SAW" that. You may have "SEEN" the same thing in the past, but you most recently "SAW" it.

It is "anointing" NOT "annointing"! Unless a woman named Ann is anointed then it could become "Ann's anointing" or for short "Annointing".

Ma aye steel theese frum u.
I must say that I use the spell check on my parent's computer to correct many of the errors that I have discovered in another's post. The truly irritating bit concerning this creation is that it routinely fails to recognize those words that once were used in yesteryear, but have since fallen into disfavor.

I would say that your spell check should be made to be educated by the...oh, they were the ones who taught the people who programmed the software. Never mind.

Once my autocorrect changed "LOL to "LOLogs" when I responded to a friends joke. I mean, when I laughed, I did poop a little, but how did my phone know?
