Tom and I just got back from the hospital. He has been having pains in his chest and shortness of breath. There is good news and bad news.
The good news is that he has no damage to his heart.

The bad news is that he needs triple bypass surgery to prevent a heart attack. Tom’s surgery needs to take place ASAP, but they cannot operate until all the plavix (blood thinner) is out of his system. So, it looks like Tom will be having surgery on 9/20. After surgery he will have a 4-6 week recovery period where his activities will be very restricted, no lifting, no driving, ect. We will be focused on his recovery. The continuing good news is that the Dr believes that he has an excellent chance for successful surgery and recovery.

Please keep Tom in your thoughts and prayers.

And I ask you would pray for my BIL, he is having to go through treatments, again, for his colon cancer. It isn't looking like it is going well.

Thank you for your prayers.

This Thursday it will be 2 weeks since Tom's bypass.
He is now in a rehab facility, and neither one of us is having a good time.
I spent Fri-Sun there trying to help keep him comfortable and in good spirits.

He is having problems with swelling, and pain, and discouragement.

I'm having problems with emotional exhaustion and not being able to function well on my job. Yesterday almost everything I did at work was wrong.

We still need your prayers and encouragement please.

Amanah - I'm sorry that I didn't catch your prayer request the first time around. I will be in prayer for you and your husband both! I can imagine just how stressful it must be to try and work, and be worried about your husband. I will be praying that a special peace from the Lord will overshadow you in the coming days.

thank you for praying as we need the prayers

the only "praying" I seem to be able to do right now is while I'm walking the dog I sing praise songs to the Lord, otherwise, I'm just too tired

I'm going to be bringing Tom home from the health care facility tomorrow :)
It is going to be challenging to care for him for the next 3 weeks as his sternum continues to heal, but I believe we are on the upswing now and every day he will become stronger.

My DIL has been doing really well after the surgery, and changes in diet. She is regaining strength and is looking healthy again. Praise the Lord.

WhollyHis (not4saken), Walt is doing very, very well. He was able to go back to work and work for 6 more years after the aneurysm ruptured. That's pretty amazing for a guy who doctors all said would be a vegetable IF he even lived :) But our God knows better than any doctor! He knew the plans He had for us :)

In May of this year Walt finally "retired" from work - on disability. But even that has worked out to our benefit. He applied for Social Security Disability and was accepted the first try. And we have a supplemental disability policy that we've paid for for years. So now he stays home and our income has not dropped even one cent :) Isn't God good!!!!

Thanks for asking - but more important: Thank you for praying for Walt! I know he is here today ONLY because God answered prayer!

Thank you, it has been a scary time, but we know God is faithful.
This illness has led to being anointed with oil and the laying on of hands, by another denomination. Praise God!!

He has agreed that he is going to have complete rest today and we will see if the pains subside. I'm trusting God for healing, but, If not, he is going in to the dr on Monday. He keeps saying it might be heartburn, but he has never complained of heartburn before. He has been doing a bit of gardening and I think he overdid it. I'm hoping complete rest along with prayer will take care of it.

Hi Amanah, how is ur husband feeling today? Im sorry to here so far after the point. Im new here and decided to check out the prayer room, and came across ur request, after you responded to mine. I feel so selfish. I am actually pursuing medical studies in the near future, however i'm stuck on the fact that Jesus IS the greatest physician ever (i never want my mindset to change even with my studies).

I will be praying for ur husband this week. Awaiting the good report In Jesus' Name :)

Hubby is going for a heart Cath on Friday to see what is up, they think that the one vessel they were not able to bypass because of a stint might need to have a new stint.

On a side note, there are times I'm feeling a little upset with Tom because I've been trying to get him to eat right and excersize for years and He would not listen . . . So I need prayer now so that I don't say, "If you would have just listened to me" :sad
