Rev. Denver Stanford, Jr. has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

In ICU on life support, unless God intervenes, will not be here long.

But we have seen our GREAT and MIGHTY GOD do some AWESOME

things through the many prayers on this forum. Tina's cousin's husband,

Scott, was given up by 5 specilists within the past couple of weeks,

but went home this week!! Amazing Grace's mother was in a very

serious condition this week but through the prayers that went up for

her, she is in a regular hospital room and doing much better!! Others also!!

THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR THESE and we

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR BRO. STANFORD<

IN JESUS NAME!!!:bliss :bliss :bliss :bliss :bliss :bliss

Mrs.BOOMM,

I had hoped to hear more today from Bro. Stanford but only

heard that his father, elder Stanford, Sr. had reported his son

had eaten eggs for breakfast, was breathing very well with oxygen.

They were waiting for biopsy reports! It sounded like they did NOT

put him on life support after all, as we were told earlier!

Hopefully we will hear more tomorrow as our grandson plans on

visiting him, if it is permissable!! He really likes Bro. Stanford, Jr.

and loved learning the saxophone from him. He is saddened by

this recent turn of events!

Praying for a miracle for this brother, in Jesus Name!!:bliss :bliss

Sis,
Is this the Denver Stanford that at one time was from Boston? My sister went out with him way back in the late 70's. He once wrote her a letter that showed up at our house 3 or 4 years after is was sent.

I will pass this info on to her.

I am praying for him as I write this....

Does he have children?

Thank you for keeping us posted. I am so thankful that the news is not as bad as first thought. I am reminded of a song that Denver sang with a group from Boston at one time. It is "We Have A Savior" I believe the McGruders also sang it. But we do have a Savior and He is able to take care of this situation. Just ask some of the posters on here. God has done some miraculous things among us!

I feel that the desperate requests made on this forum have had

miracleous answers because of the many people who have prayed.

Thank God for brothers and sisters who care enough to stand in the

gap until...!

Bro. Stanford, Jr bases out of a church about ten miles from our

city! As does his father and mother! I have only met Bro. Stanford,

Jr. when he visited our church as a guest of my grandson who takes

saxophone lessons from him. His mom and dad also visited one time.

That has been within the past year for both.

Update on Bro. Stanford, Jr,

Our grandson who takes saxophone lessons from Bro. Stanford, Jr

went to the hospital and was able to see him. The doctors are

evidently not giving much hope for Bro. Stanford, Jr. But a couple

of weeks ago, I remember we prayed for Sis. Tina's cousin's husband,

named Scott, who had been given up by 5 specilists and told to

prepare his children. But instead fervent prayer was made and Scott

went home last week. TO GOD BE THE PRAISE, HONOUR and GLORY!!

That is what God can do. Man is limited but our GOD IS NOT!!

When man's ability is exhausted, God's only begins!! NOW we will

see what GOD will do for Bro. Stanford, Jr. LORD JESUS, Thank YOU

in advance for what You WILL DO for Bro. Denver Stanford, Jr., in

JESUS NAME!!!!:bliss :bliss :bliss :bliss :bliss :bliss :bliss

Update on Bro. Denver Stanford, Jr.

We learned Bro. Stanford, Jr. was in a neighboring city about ten

miles from us, so we went over there as we had heard the church

people had been coming to the chapel there to pray. We didn't find

anyone in the chapel so figured it was suppertime so we went up to

the area where we learned Bro. Stanford was. We asked a lady who

was nearby if she knew where the family of Rev. Stanford was and

she said to follow her. We were sure he could have no visitors but she

said no, you can go in and see him. We were shocked but went right

in and saw Elder and Sis. Stanford, Sr. I had only met them once last

year when they visited our church. We prayed with them and others

for their son who the doctors have said tonight or tomorrow and he

will be gone!!! I felt it was God who should decide that!! As we got off

the elevator a couple of hours later a couple of Bro. Stanford's dear

friends got off the next one and said the doctor had come by as they

were leaving and said there was a slight improvement! Hey, that's the

first encouraging words we heard when Sis, Tina's cousin's husband,

Scott was given up by 5 specilists a couple of weeks ago. When I

heard that, a slight improvement I thought, "That's all we need, just

a slight improvment, about the size of a man's hand. Isn't that all the

prophet needed to see. A cloud about the size of a man's hand!!

Faith, faith, faith, just a little bit of faith
Faith, faith, faith, just a little bit of faith,
You don't need a whole lot, just use what you got,
Faith, faith, faith, just a little bit of faith.

Faith, faith, faith, just a little bit of faith,
Faith, faith, faith, just a little bit of faith,
Whole lot is not what you need,
Bout the size of a mustard seed.
Faith, Faith, faith, just a little bit of faith.

Bro. Denver Stanford, Jr is in the Hands of a Faithful God.

Regardless of what He chooses to do, His way is always best.

He makes no mistakes! He is able to completely turn this situation

around but if He should see fit to take Bro. Stanford. Jr at this time,

He is still a LOVING, COMPASSINATE, WONDERFUL GOD!!! HIS NAME

IS JESUS!!

Lord, we commit our brother in Christ into YOUR NAILED SCARRED

HANDS. NOT OUR WILL, BUT THINE BE DONE! Thank YOU, Lovely Lord!!

Bro. Nathan,

Thank you and everyone on this forum that is and has prayed

for Bro. Stanford, Jr and this family. I told Elder and Sis. Stanford

and others about this forum and GNC where there is a request also.

Told them about Scott, Sis. Tina's cousin's husband. Bro. Stanford's

situation reminds me of that case as it SEEMS so hopeless according

to the doctors. But we have a HOPE above and beyond what man can

do. Thanks again for every prayer, in Jesus Name!!!

My oldest daughter, her 20 yr. old son (who took saxophone lessons

from Bro. Stanford, Jr.) our pastor and I, attended Bro. Denver Stanford's

funeral in Garland, Texas today. It was different from most I have ever

attended but very comforting and uplifting! The Band featuring the Boston

Brass, led by Bro. Sam Kelly of Denver, Colo. played several numbers during

the service. Bro. Stanford, Jr's, mother in law, Sis. Gentles from Calif. wrote

a tribute "Ode To Denver". Very sweet! Rev. D.G. Hargrove's message was

entitled, "Four Anchors That Will Get Us Through This Day". They were

GOD, first, PEOPLE, family, friends, etc., MEMORY, Wonderful memories

that last a lifetime, and a HOPEFUL FUTURE. It was so encouraging!

There was lots of playing featuring the Boston Brass, Kathy Hernandez,

Eli's wife, played with them and they highlighted her as well as others.

Wonderful anointed singing!

May God comfort this good family, in Jesus Name!!

Thanks for posting this. I imagine there were a lot of people there. He knew and was known of so many. I still can't believe it is true. I mean people aren't suppose to die this young. I remember being at youth camp when he and his wife were dating. She and I shared a room together that year. We have a lot of good memories. I just pray that God sustains them thru this. He is willing and able, Praise God.
