Pray for me. I have an appointment this afternoon. Thankfully they were able to move me up from March 18 as they are always booked. I told them I had to be out of town for Spring Break and that if she could take care of me before, to give me a call - which she did, yesterday.
My dentist told me my roots were good and I was too young to have a tooth pulled, so I need to have the root canal.
Arghhh! Every time I think about it, I get butterflies in my stomach.

Yuck. I have had three. Root canals are no fun! My teeth were falling out of my head until I started this regimen:
www.cleanwhiteteeth.com Last two times in.....NO cavities. Can't say that will be forever but I can hope. :)

I've had two teeth pulled over the past several years, and finally a few months ago, I decided to get bridges.
Well, the first part of the procedure took 4 hours!!!!! I went in at 2 pm, and when I asked how long it would be, the receptionist said "Around 4"....well, I thought she meant 4 o'clock, but she meant 4 hours!
But, in spite of it all, it wasn't really bad at all.....went back a week later for my permanent bridges.
The worst part of the procedure was that I swallowed one of my temporary bridges, lol!!!

I'm assuming you found it? Please do not elaborate, I can't stand the visual. :heeheehee
She went over the Bridge with me as I had studied and was worried about the root canal procedure. I can't recall the name of what they fill the nerve cavity with, but it could cause permanent arthritis, which of course, would be in relation to your personal health.
Anyway, she showed me the Bridge models and went on to explain that she would have to grind the back and front teeth, which are in good condition, and she didn't want to do that.
She then showed me the little pointed rubber things they replace the nerve with. It's not a solution item like I had read. That made me more comfortable with the procedure.

I have heard about horrible things from root canals. It has made me consider getting my three teeth with root canals pulled. But that seems extreme. I am not convinced enough to do that yet, I guess.......I AM convinced they cause issues......but pulling is my only option.

I've had these for many years.....a couple of them for 25. I have a lot of fatigue. If I had a low-grade infection in the three root canals that my body was fighting off all the time, that could explain it. If I knew for a fact I would have more energy for getting them pulled, I would do it. But if I pulled them with no improvement, I would not be a happy camper. ;)

Exactly.....have you had them looked at by a dentist recently? Maybe have them X-rayed to see of there are stress fractures, etc.

The procedures he describes to discover the bacterial issues were pretty invasive. There was no talk of whether an X-Ray would reveal these bacterial issues. I am sure a large infection would show up but a more invasive procedure might be necessary to see what is going on.

Okay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya'll must have really prayed when you said you would. I never know if people mean it or not. Right? :heeheehee
Anyway, he took an x-ray, did a couple of tests with biting down and touching the tooth with something cold and told me he didn't believe I needed a root canal, that the tooth was testing normal.
He said he saw some grey area next to my partial filling and he thinks I need to have my dentist take care of that first. If that fixes the problem, I'm good to go.
So, I made an appointment for next Thursday to have the filling taken out, she will grind down the cavity part and refill. Praying that is all it is!
Thanks all! Man, I am so happy. That saved me $940 today!

I just read that unsweetened Green Tea can help to relieve a toothache. I suppose that would be the same thing after some dental work.
It is known for it's powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
This was also interesting - According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, green tea's antibacterial properties may help to stop or slow the development of cavities.
Anyway, heating up some water to make me some Green Tea. :thumbsup

I drink a LOT of green tea... there are so many good things in green tea, besides the fact that it tastes wonderful! I drink it all day long, about 4-5 cups a day... or more in the winter months.

It actually isn't a root canal. She had to take out my filling, clean the area and refill. It hurts to high heaven.
I do have some colloidal silver. I'll will try that too!
I also have clove oil, from your article:
"2. Relieve a throbbing tooth with clove essential oil (Syzygium aromaticum). The aromatic chemical in clove called eugenol numbs pain and kills bacteria. To apply the clove oil, soak a cotton ball or swab with the oil and use it to wipe on and around your sore gums and tooth. Repeat as needed."
This does work for a time. I've understood that it can burn your skin if you apply without mixing it with something like Olive Oil (3/1). I'm afraid to try it full strength, since I am still in so much pain.
I also have ice packs in the freezer. I'm going to try that too.
That's all I need, my vicodin, my clove oil my colloidal silverl and my ice packs. :heeheehee
Think how I would be doing with a root canal?! lol
