My BIL's (and AFF Member) Blog is worth reading. I concur!

"When I witness an event like the election of the pope, I feel an inner sense of connectedness that resonates to Christianity’s common root in the Catholic church."

"Having said that, there are many reasons that I am not a Roman Catholic."

I read it...I'm not so smitten by the cute and cuddly RCC.

Regarding his list of 6 pros:
1) "...at times checkered history" is an understatement. They have a lot of blood on their hands.
2) Unfortunately, they worship the blood and the cross, but disregard the power of the resurrected Christ.
3) Overshadowing their positive contribution is their negative perversion with sex crimes and cover ups.
4) I do agree. They should get a medal.
5) I agree with this as well.
6) Yah, them Catholics know their pomp and circumstance.
6) (he listed 6 twice) Have friends who support Democrats and Obama, doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy about them.

While I admit I enjoyed watching the ceremony after the white smoke began to billow from the chimney, I also felt sad for the thousands of people there who are deceived. God could not have been happy with the worship that was being given in St. Peters square. Thousands upon thousands there, worshiping the creature more than the Creator.

That said, I understand that the what the RCC and Pope does affects governments and people more than any other human gov't or person.

No but I don't feel an inner sense of connectiveness.

I didn't watch the ceremony of smoke. I don't care who is the next Pope of Rome nor the next King of England
