Where there is cooperation there is hope. For those willing to forgo 4000 years of history filled with violence they provide hope for future generations of both sides with one common goal............... peace :hug4

Agreed. Now if we can get that to happen in Egypt for the Coptics and other Christian sects

They are, if Muslim law is really followed, supposed to be under the protection of the Muslims there.

yeah - I know they did........the Egyptian people are fickle though. Do not be surprised if they toss this lot out in the next couple of years. They are, on an individual level, very tolerant of each other.

Before the "spring" Egypt was a favorite expat destination (from Saudi) and I really didnt hear that anybody was ever bothered.
In fact they were very keen on, protective of, and supportive of tourism and tourists.

Unfortunately the Coptics kicked it off by spray-painting crosses on a Mosque and both sides are still at it in spite of calls of calm from the current government.
New clashes erupted on Sunday when hundreds of angry Copts who had attended a funeral service at St. Mark's Cathedral spilled out into the streets of Cairo, chanting "With our blood and soul we will sacrifice ourselves for the cross".
