God is not mocked and will not protect His children from evil when they disobey Him and continue to pursue after sinful lusts.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2322501/Tim-Lambesis-Christian-heavy-metal-band-singer-CHARGED-paying-hitman-1000-kill-wife.html

Recently I posted a thread on how someone with the Holy Spirit can because of sin be taken over by evil, and explains what happens when Christians through their own choice continue on with Un-repented sins in their life. This is the process that goes on when we see the heads of Churches and Ministries fall into headline grabbing events that are contrary to the way of Christ all because they chose lust over obedience

I agree that heavy metal does not appear “Christlike” but is that because of physical appearance or a message of rebellion and hate being fueled by anger?

I think you'll agree with the latter because contemporary does not describe living a sinless and holy life.

What this particular person did against God was pursue multiple sexual relationships at the same time claiming to represent Christ.

This conflict ended with a reprobate mind choosing evil over good that guaranteed any covering from God formally protecting him would be removed allowing sin to continue unchecked.

A lot of times cases like this involve a certain amount of entrapment by law enforcement authorities, but this is not a case where they went out and overcame somebody with a temptation they were not already pursuing.

Could this story be a put up job by an overzealous prosecutor? Possible but not likely, however, if that is the case she will get her just due reward. (I just don't think that the final revelation of facts is going to add discrepancy to the charges)

If this band has $.02 worth of discernment they're going to disown this person as well as the name of their band. Meanwhile this man who's been charged with hiring a hitman needs to be on his knees thanking God that he hired a cop and not an actual hitman!

Blessings

It's not the music. It's the lyrics.

What kind of christian judges a person based on what they read in a newspaper article?

There are a plethora of christian metal bands who bring the message of hope to kids who are disenfranchised with phony religious rhetoric.

Apples and oranges...porn is about immoral sex but unless the lyrics of those songs are illicit then you are judging it based on how the music "sounds" to you

I don't see how a non living/spirited thing like a musical note/tone, demonic and or angelic descriptions. It can be neither for it has no soul. It is a sound wave/vibration. It does not make up your mind for you nor does it change what you think, unless you give it the power to.

So for you to call heavy metal music demonic is ridiculous, the fan base that follows it maybe so, the people involved in the playing maybe so. But there are plenty of golden oldie/country/so called gospel bands and the like that have done some pretty disturbing and evil things, just because it is faster and louder than you would prefer does not make it immoral or evil. The lyrics and the members of the band and what they represent decide whether its evil or not.

I don't agree with the tattoos or anything like that, but to call specific musical pitches evil, I personally believe is wrong.

. . . . but the dogs comes home and the tractor starts working and the wife now KNOWS where all the cowboys have gone! (OK, maybe that's Country rather than gospel.)

I personally feel like Country music was invented by satan just to make me need Prozac, but I'm not gonna start a doctrine about it.

My husband (Atheist) and I were discussing this news a few weeks ago, one of the things that I couldn't believe was the potential jail sentence for this type of crime is only like 7 years.
