:heeheehee I don't think that just because a person uses the shortened form of homosexual i.e. "homo" that it means they're homophobic. Homophobic means you have a fear of homosexuals or homosexuality and we don't fear either in the way we normally think of fear as being.

We love the homosexual but condemn the sin and act of homosexuality. There's a difference between the two.

IAM with ya SE, short sleeves are a sure sign that a person is not right with God - short sleeves outweigh, repentance, baptism in Jesus Name, The Holy Ghost, Living a clean Godly life, winning souls to the Kingdom - all of it...I mean it is more important than a relationship with God - the whole nine yards.

There should not be one child in the church a pastor pastors who EVER comes in with a short sleeve shirts on even as a baby.

Those poor people in Africa and other countires need to be issued sleeves before they come in the door so in case they decide to get right - they dont have to worry about dem bows......

Why should anyone try to "stir it up"? We can have debates over relevant and scriptural points without non-sensical posts merely intended to provoke.

Hebrews 12:12-15
"Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way: but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord"

Where did you go NOW?

How on earth did you find this thread buried under the layers and layers?

I just went to the first page in the Fellowship Hall and worked my way back. It was about the third page in.

Occasionally, I say that I miss Epley and others like him. The looniness sorta entertaining. And like they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity, so it seems like Epley would be good for the forum to create a fuss and get people worked up.

So right now I'm killing time and went back and looked at old threads in the beginning of the forum, and I found this thread.

So I read this and I've changed my mind. I'm glad he's gone.

I'm not, but I'm sure it's been best for him.

But to go on a public forum and make bigoted statements like the title of this thread is way out of bounds. No excuse for it. Not an ounce of the grace of God in proclamations like that.

Knot,

He did it for fun. As conservative as he is I do not believe he actually believes the title of this thread. It was meant as a joke.

I don't doubt that it was either presented or received as a joke. But it's not funny and it's nothing to joke about, in my opinion.

LOL!!! Of course he would never start an off the wall thread. I mean his one on how as a pastor he would appoint an agnostic to his church board was just as level headed as they come!:toofunny

:lolI actually prefer to wear long sleeves and roll them up if it's warm. I don't like the term "Homo" and I don't like it when it's used in a "joking" manner. I don't think it's anything to laugh at. Sorry.

These are, after all, the people we claim we want to reach. They're the people that Jesus wept over. They're the people who wondered about with no shepherd that moved Jesus with compassion. They're the people that broke the heart of God to the point that He sent His only begotten Son to die.

When I first moved to California, a group of very fine bible college students took me to the "Castro District" in San Francisco to laugh at people. It broke my heart, more for their mocking than the gay community I saw for the first time in my life. Their laughter and crass jokes were horrifying then, and it's horrifying now.

So when a loud-mouth shows up and cracks a joke about people in short-sleeves being "homos", I don't laugh and I'm expressing my opinion. I understand that I'll be vilified by some, or maybe most, but that's ok.

They went there to laugh? Sad.

Reminds me of a story I've heard Chuck Smith tell. I don't remember the details but he and his wife went somewhere to look at the "Hippies." Chuck was pointing and commenting but his wife was weeping over "those poor children." Some of her attitude rubbed off on him and in time he started inviting them to his church and ministering to them. Eventually he had a bunch of them saved and serving the Lord.

Chuck Smith's early days were incredible. When he first started reaching out to the hippie generation, they would flock into his church with bare feet. Soon, the board called him in and demanded that he force the hippies to wear shoes, or at least, sandals. The natural oils from their feet were ruining the carpet. Chuck refused and told them to buy new carpet or he would leave. The carpet was replaced, the new carpet was eventually ruined as well, and thousands of hippies were reached for Jesus.

Kind sad, isn't it? Many being reached for Jesus and we're worried because the oil from their bare feet is ruining the carpet? What kind of people are we?

You're complaining about CC1 bringing up a thread you started in the past, yet you're bumping threads that haven't been posted in for over two years to complain about--and you expect people to take you seriously. Unreal.

I believe he's taken a church in MO.
