View Full Version : Prayer for my son Larry

Thanks to all of you for praying for me. I think part of the problem has been, I've been deeply burdened for my son for about 3 weeks. I have walked the floor and prayed for his soul, He is backslide. But God knew there was something else wrong, therefore the burden.
if God put the burden on me, then I believe that he will move in a miraculous way.
He had a PET scan about a week ago, we found out today, that they think his lung cancer is back. He hasn't had the biopsy yet.
2 yrs go they took out 40% of his right lung, but he has worked almost every day since then and has felt fine.
Please pray for his soul as well as his health.

Just have faith that God's will is being accomplished for his life. I will pray for him as the Lord puts him on my heart.

UPDATE---
Some good news-----My son saw the Oncologist Thursday. He said, from his tests, he didn't think that the cancer was back. But he has several swollen lymph glands in his lungs. He thinks it is from all of the solvents, chemicals and poisons that he has worked in for years. He is also a mold specialist, and we know what that can do for people.
Keep praying, ----he has one more test, the PET Scan. If that doesn't show anything, we can shout, Halleluiah.

Update---
Larry had the PET Scan. He got the results yesterday. He has cancer again. 3 spots in his right lung.
They haven't scheduled his surgery yet.

He was raised in church. He had the Holy Ghost, I've heard him speak in tongues. He left the church after the pastor went into false doctrine. But a few times when I started talking to him,,he has mocked speaking in tongues.
He and I used to have great discussion, about God, salvation and a lot of things, but now I can;t talk to him at all about his soul.
He is a very good, kind, loving person. He has taught this family, (by example,) more about love than I ever learned at church.

Larry, is in the hospital, he started spitting up blood today. He has had another xray this evening. Don't know the results yet.

The xray showed that he had burst a blood vessel in his lung. He is home.
Goes to meet with the surgeon Wed.
And yes, I also need prayer. Iam deeply grieved in my spirit. I believe it is for the purpose of interceeding in the Spirit. I walk the floor praying in unknown tongues, because, I know that "the Spirit knows what we have need of."
I'm sure some of you have experience this.

UPDATE
On the PET scan, they found that the cancer is in 2 places on his right lung and one spot on his left. It is close to his heart and esophgus tube. They think it is in-operable and want to start him on chemotherpy. He sees the Onocologist tomarrow. And has requested to go to Cancer Center of America in Chicago. He goes, Fri 5th.
Over the weekend, Larry took me and my sister (97 yrs old) to a famliy reunion in SC. There were 50 of us there. As a group, we prayed for Phil Goldsberry and Larry. Phils mother, (another sister) was at the reubion.

Today, they found that Larry has a small brain tumor. They will operate tomorrow , at 5 pm.
They say, that it is very small, and in an easy place to get to. They have to take care of that, before they work on the lung cancer.
I am heartbroken. I lost a daughter 19 yrs ago, to brain cancer. But I am not in despair. We serve a great big, loving God. I believe that if Larry would come back to God, and be healed, he would help his whole family back to God. Grown children, a son, 3 daughters and a step-son.

It grieves my heart to read your post. I can only imagine the pain you are going through. We love our children so much and no matter how old they get they are still our children and we want to protect them and see them prosper.
I wish I had some incredibly encouraging words to say but all I can say is that I am praying for your son, you, your whole family and of course my friend Phil Goldsberry who you mentioned.

Thank you, every one that prayed. And thank God, one part of the trial is through.
Larry was operated on yesterday at 6pm, for the tumor in his head. He came through the operation just fine. It was a small tumor.
This morning, he ate breakfast, set up and talked to the family, and is amazed at how good he feels. All his motor skills work fine. He probably will come home Mon.
He has to go back to Chicago in 2-3 weeks to start chemo, for the lung cancer.

Yesterday, (Sunday) Larry went again to Chicago. Tomorrow they are to put a port in him, and start the Chemo Therapy.
I am under heavy travail, and praying for his complete healing and that they won't have to even start.
I'm asking God for a mighty miracle.
We are a large family, and I have seen many miracles in this family. Some I'm sure from my mother's prayers.

They've changed the schedule. They are doing some kind of mapping this week. Friday they intend (I'm still praying for a mighty miracle) to use radiation where they took out the tumor in his brain.
They said that as far as they could tell, there was no more cancer in his brain, but they want to make sure. I feel that is very dangerous.
Next week they start the radiation for his lung cancer.
Keep praying for a miracle.

God is Great, God is moving.
Larry didn't have to have the radiation. He has a rare type of cancer, that they said radiation doesn't help. But they put him on a very expensive pill, that is a new kind of Chemo. They found 4 small tumors of cancer in his lungs.
2 weeks ago, he went back to Chicago for a check up. They said that 2 of the tumors was gone. They could not find them on the xray. I asked him about the one close to his heart, he said, that was one of them that is gone. Thank God.
This Saturday, the 7th, we had a birthday party for his granddaughter, age 6, at the skating rink. Larry did a lot of skating.
At 7:30 yesterday morning, my daughter-in-law called and said during the night he had terrible chest pains, and they were at the hospital.
After ruling out a heart attack, they started checking for a blood clot, it turns out that they think he has pneumonia.
He says he is feeling fine, after they got the pain stopped, and he was walking the halls yesterday.
I thank all of you that are praying for him and I believe God is moving on his body soul and spirit.

Larry looks great, and says he feels great, and to look at him, you would never guess that he has stage 4 cancer.
Thursday he went to Chicago, for another check-up. All they told him was that he was at this point, stable. He hasn't heard from a chest e-ray, but I expect good news.
Right now, he is in Hawaii, for about 3 weeks visiting his nephew.
Let's keep praying. I believe God.
